This was scheduled for publication a year ago. It took a while to swap my Blackberry for an Android. Now this post is complete. Enjoy!

Love seeing my local area through the eyes of others! Hope you got something yummy at Red Barn!

Girl, where have you been!? We need to meet for coffee at Red Barn when you have some time to spare… I thought you bailed out on us when you started your new job. Glad to hear from you! Was I accurate? Isn’t it a lovely area… all of it. 🙂

Marathon training took up sooooo much time, and then I didn’t make my blog an priority. I am making an effort to get back to bloging, I love it so much 🙂
I love our area and couldn’t imaging living anywhere else. Your photos…or “phonetos”… are proof of all it has to offer!

Awesome! I will stop by your blog and give you a hallo! Still running marathons? You must look fabulous. When you catch your breath let’s catch up in the village for coffee. My treat … at the Red Barn. Organic all the way. 🙂

I grew up in the suburbs and it was a wonderful experience. Now I find myself living in the city.

    • 06/10/2014 12:34 am

Did you miss the suburbs? Toronto is a beautiful city and has a fairly suburbia feel in some parts… I do love it.

      • 06/10/2014 3:30 am

I do miss living away from tall buildings and breathing in cleaner air.

      • 06/10/2014 5:05 am

I can imagine… Plus you grew up in a beautiful country. 🙂

A charming view of your world–a world filled with many slices of your culture, history and the people.

I love to see other peoples worlds, they are so interesting, and yours is no exception; thank you for sharing your world with us.
I think where we are brought up as a child, stays with us through life. I was brought up in a small village in Scotland and although I now live in Australia, the area where I have chosen to live is similar in so many ways. My house looks over onto a farmer’s field with cows so I feel like I’m in the country, but I only have to drive two kilometres to our local shops Best of both worlds!

Your home and location sound heavenly. I remember seeing some photos a couple of years ago Or was that before you moved? Still it’s a stunning area.

      • 06/10/2014 1:35 am

We’ve been in this house 2.5 years now, so those photos would have been this place. It’s in the suburbs, but we look over onto a farmer’s field of cows, so it feels like we are in the country. Best of both worlds!

      • 06/10/2014 1:48 am

It is your current place… Yes, best of best worlds. The photos were so romantic and beautiful, I could never forget them.

I grew up in small town in southern Missouri…i never did a lot of moving until i was in the military. now i have lived in large cities and small towns. I think i personally prefer the big city life, but thats just me. Great post, really loved the photographs.

What a beautiful place to live! I love traveling just so we can explore other people’s worlds for just a bit. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for sharing. I grew up in the country on a farm but have recently moved to the city. The older I get the more I don’t like inconveniences like driving 30 miles just to go to the store :). Now, I can just walk around the corner.

    • 09/10/2014 9:25 pm

You have a point there… Both have advantages and disadvantages. For the elderly, not being able to drive can be a hindrance.

I grew up in a town of 2000 people. I now live in a town of over 50000 people & am close enough to kansas city to be considered part of the Kansas City Metro. The town I grew up in is where I lived for 28 years of my life so it has taken me some getting used to being in a BIG town & having to deal with “city driving”. Your pictures are great!

What gorgeous photos! It looks like you have had some amazing travels!:)

I grew up in a very small town in the Dominican Republic. Everyone knew everyone and with no telephone or cars, I always wondered why moms knew what you did or didn’t do in no time. All eyes were on you. It was a literal “village raising a child” deal. Your life sounds so interesting living in different continents and the pictures are superb.

I grew up in a small city on the coast. It’s where my parents grew up and where they wanted to raise their kids. I love home!

I grew up in the town, really wasn’t suburbs around the coaling mining town that I was born. I have since moved, however, it would be fun to go back, taking photos of what made it so unique 🙂
