Several years ago, on a trip to London to visit family and friends, a family member casually mentioned Neal’s Yard Remedies in Covent Garden as a go-to place for terrific, natural, pure beauty and wellness products. I’ve always been interested in skincare and wellness products and, since my early teen years when I was introduced to Estee Lauder’s Clinique, I have tried my share of top beauty products. Immediately, my antennae went up. “When can we go?” I asked, calculating where in my tight schedule I could fit in a visit to the store. “Maybe next time you visit us in London. That should bring you back!” She said, chuckling.

Some Background: Romy Fraser opened Neal’s Yard Remedies in 1981 in Covent Garden London, and ran it as a natural herbs apothecary shop. You could visit to buy herbal extracts and tinctures, handmade soaps, creams and such. As the shop gained popularity, it expanded its product line and opened a store in Japan. They were first in the UK to have their beauty care products certified organic and subsequently won many beauty awards and organic line certifications. By 2006, Romy was ready to sell and the Kindersley family, long standing supporters of maintaining an organic lifestyle, bought the company. I love products that are beneficial to our overall health and wellness and that are made with sustainability and protecting the environment in mind.
