What does summer lovin’ mean to me? Summer is about relaxation, fun foods, and lounging about with loved ones at exotic or favored locales. I can’t help it, but summer puts me in the mood for … a vacation.
When I think of summer, I dream of languid days spent at a beautiful tropical beach, with clear blue water, palm trees tossing their fronds in the wind, and freshly squeezed lemonade served in a tall glass filled with ice. Sounds simple enough eh? But that’s not my reality at this moment, so I’ve chosen to inhale some summer loving from this photo shared by my dear friend, Karen Asplund Velez, lawyer, writer/blogger at Solodialogue.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Summer Lovin’ – with blooms and more.
What does summer lovin’ mean to you? I asked a couple of friends and while most agreed with my position, hanging out poolside or beach-side won hands down. Something we tend to take for granted, once the warm weather kicks in, is the vibrancy of summer floral colors and clothing. I love the bright yellow, red, white and pink flowers blooming in gardens and by the roadside in my area.
I love that I can walk on the aqueduct, and be greeted by pretty flowers and gaily dressed kids running along the trail with mom and dad sweating away as they try to keep up. To cool off, a serving of lemonade, ice cream or even freshly cut mangoes and pineapple help complete celebrating the joy of summer. What about you? What do you cherish about the season? Weekly Photo Challenge: Summer Lovin’ – Can’t beat sunrise in Hawaii
What do we find challenging in the summer? Aside form the humidity and heat, it can also be a season of thunderstorms and tornadoes. We also see more ocean related accidents and in drought areas, the hot weather can be brutal. So, as we sip our lemonades and cool off in our air conditioned rooms, let’s send some summer lovin’ wishes to those who might not be enjoying it somewhere around the world. What is your summer lovin’ things to do? Do you like it only in the summer? If you could travel somewhere for the summer, where would you go?

Lovely summer pictures. I’m a great watcher of the changes the seasons make to our surroundings and always look out for the first sign of buds which can show on bushes in the chill of late December or January. Now, it is really hot here, but UK standards anyway, and I am enjoying the riot of colour, but also ensuring there is plenty of chilled water in the fridge

Such beautiful photos! I enjoy eating ice cream during the summer. I live in the middle east and so I get annoyed by the extremely hot temperatures during the day.
Pictures really do say a thousand words. These pictures are beautiful and scream summer to me. The only thing is I really hope to stay away from a hurricane this year.
