Gratitude: On Acceptance

01/05/2014

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity…” Melody Beattie

Inspiration: Dig Deeper For Gratitude…

A month ago, I signed up to join a group of bloggers eager to spend the month of May writing on the subject of gratitude. I was looking forward to it as a way to get back to my love for blogging. In case you haven’t noticed, my blogging has been sporadic at best … and silent for stretches of time. It would be easy to blame good old Writer’s Block but that would be untrue.

I’ve written daily in my silence and written drafts that remain unpublished. The culprit is health and life’s demands. When we are faced with such challenges, everything stops and what truly matters steps forward. For me, family, friends, faith, wellness are far more important than a laundry list of How to Blog… when/why/what. With this has come acceptance. We can’t move forward until we accept what is and make peace with it. How does acceptance play out in your life?

Gratitude: “…It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” Melody Beattie
My heart was/remains in the right place but my body and life’s demands have had other plans. I’ve traveled the emotional spectrum on how I feel about this matter; especially because I was looking forward to blogging on a topic close to my heart – GRATITUDE. I’ve decided to post my musings on the topic for the entire month. Feel free to reach forward and read the rest. Thank you!

*Please bear with me as I catch up on your blogs and commenting… I’m back on track; albeit at a slow pace. Thank you all for your patience!

Positive Motivation Tip: When life’s challenges leave us feeling empty, lets dig deeper for the good… it’s there, and ready to lift us up.

I truly hope you are on the road to recovery, Elizabeth. I know how you feel about gratitude, we share that belief. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Physical challenges trump all when they rear their ugly heads. It’s the most difficult and most important time to dig down and be grateful for what you have and what you can do, in the never ending effort to ignore what you don’t have and what you cannot do.

Well said Genevieve. It’s easy to want what we’ve always had… but challenges force us to look inside for what is more important. TY.

I love this. It’s extremely uplifting.

I am learning to accept things as they are and as I am doing so… I am becoming more grateful and happier. Less stress!

So love this post. Since I always get what I want (such a spoil baby) I always thank God for giving me more than what I need.

I love this so much very inspiring and motivating. This is the answer to all bitterness feelings that we feel when we can’t let go of anger in our heart.

Real life should always come first, but with me I have so many demands on my life. Things I have to do that I am grateful for blogging because it is the one and only thing I do for myself.
