Photos: Empire State Building In Successive Iteration
“He may be more potent than any other man. The damnable iteration day after day of earnest conviction wears like the dropping of the water upon the stone.” William Thomas Stead

EMPIRE STATE BUILDING IN Black & White COLLAGE
Iteration is the act of repeating a process with the aim of approaching a desired goal, target or result. Each repetition of the process is also called an “iteration,” and the results of one iteration are used as the starting point for the next iteration.
A few years ago, I took my first shot of the Empire State Building. Then, last fall, I noticed that part of it juts out near a building by the Church I attend in Manhattan and so I took another one. After that shot, I was sold. I got into the repetitiveness of it and now have a whole series of them in successive iteration. The idea behind this exercise is to create a continuous repetition of an image we have focused on until we reach that point of perfection; the zenith of our shot. Practice, they say, makes perfect. Have you ever shot an image over and over again?

Iteration, like friction, is likely to generate heat instead of progress. George Eliot

Another Iteration Of The Empire State Building
An iteration is a pattern that consists of shapes that, to some degree, repeat Patterns that use iteration typically show objects en masse. These kinds of patterns often fill the entire photo and become textural to an overall quick glance.
We can also use objects to create iterations of our own design and the key is the element of repetition. I will be uploading more examples I have created with my pictures. They are easy to create. I will continue to take Sunday photos of the Empire State Building and will share more as time goes by. Thanks for stopping by. What have you tried to shoot over a period of time?
This post was Inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Describe the one decision in your life where you wish you could get a “do-over.” Tell us about the decision, and why you’d choose to take a different path this time around. Photographers, artists, poets: show us ITERATION
Thank you EVERYONE!

I guess I do, the Exe estuary.
I really do like it when they change the colors to represent something. It makes the building more real to me.
a few things…but, not many!
I have shot many images over and over and over. I am not a photographer, so if I get a shot that turns out half way decent… I run with it.
Such a neat idea to do a series on the same building. I really only take pics of my family.
Wow, those are some beautiful pictures of the Empire State Building! I love how you decided to start taking pictures of it over and over.
I love this, and woudl totally make a collage for my walls of it! This would make such a nice poster, or framed art.
Love your photos. I do the same thing. I will focus on one subject and then take different views of it, from different angles.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
This is so cool. I never would’ve thought to repeat the pictures of an object the way you did. I’m really trying to step my photography game up.
Going to NYC is on my bucket list – when I do go – I plan to go to the top of the Empire State Building, Your pics are really nice!
Very nice photos! I love NYC posters and that would make a great one.
Beautiful photos. The Empire State is one of my favorite buildings. I love looking at it from downtown as I walk from my office to the subway. I also check their website at least once a week to find out what colors & meaning it’s going to be…
How cool! I had no idea that they used so many different colors for the Empire State building. It gives it a lot of personality.
Gorgeous photos! I hope to see it in person someday.
I would love to visit the Empire State Building. It seems like something you could take shots of over and over again and never have the same angle.
These are great pictures! Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been to the Empire State Building and it was such a cool experience. If I ever get the chance, I’d love to go back and shoot photos and compare them to the ones I have from my last trip.
I’d like to try something like that with the Skywheel in Myrtle Beach! I love the idea.
That’s fun! I take pictures over and over again of the same things when we go to Chicago. I can’t help it, I just get in awe. 🙂
I love taking pictures of the same thing over and over. Especially in the different seasons.
Wow! This is a great hobby to start with. While the Empire State Building can be a great start, there are other awesome landmarks that we can choose from. 🙂
Really neat idea! I loved this post…so unique and interesting. Plus I’m a sucker for NYC!
really cool!! these would be gorgeous framed on a wall together
Wow. what an amazing group of photographs. It really does give you a sense of the building and its iconic status
very cool photos! It’s great to see the empire state building in different views.
What a beautiful set showing change and sameness all at once. I’ve been through NY once and I really would like to go back again.
These are gorgeous photos! I’d love to see the Empire State Building one day.
Great pictures. I went to NYC once and stayed nearby. It was truly beautiful!
I have been known to take several shots of the same subject in order to get that perfect image. I’d love to photograph the Empire State Building the way you have!
Great photos. NYC is a great place to get awesome photos of buildings!
The only thing I’ve done like this is of Cinderella’s Castle at Disney. Not very unique, but was still fun all the same!
I’ve never been to the Empire State Building. I need to change that ASAP!
These are very beautiful. I’ve never been to see it though
Such an inspiring building. I love that they keep the colors relevant.
I love your photos! I am a big photography nut. I love what you did with your shots.
That looks really fun lit up! I’ve been up there once, almost 10 years ago now.
I love the empire state building. I was just there. I love these compare/contrast pictures. Such a great idea

These are really cool! Before we moved, we could see the Empire State Building from the end of our block. I kind of miss it!
I love when they light up the Entire State Building. I miss NYC and times like this when I see these photos make me want to come back home. 🙁
So beautiful! I have not been to New York City but it is on my to do list!
The only thing I’ve taken zillions of pictures of is my kids! I’m not that great of a photographer though, so that’s probably why!
Wow those pictures are gorgeous! I’m going to New York next year and I can’t wait to see this iconic building 🙂
