TY Madhu! I used to write poems and stopped for many, many years… I no longer felt a connection to it. But recently, with the small stones, something was rekindled. I’m a novice at it and I prefer poetry that tells a story so I don’t use vague terms… I’m not good at that. TY 🙂

The quote from Washington is thought provoking. He calls conscience ‘that little spark of celestial fire’. Wouldn’t it be great if more people labored to keep this spark alive in their breasts!
I also loved this poem where it says that faith, hope and courage can lead us out of danger so to speak and to prayer and peace. And then we are safe. Did you compose this poem, Eliz?
What would I grab in case of fire? Definitely my handbag containing all my identity cards. I wouldn’t know which books to grab if there wasn’t much time. Come to think of it, I could actually grab any four of our photo-albums on the way out. They would be easy to grab because some of them are placed on a
bookshelf near the door to the outside.

I would grab my handbag because it has the USB stick in it with our manuscript, our passports because the Nigerian ones not so easy to replace and the car keys so at least we could drive to somewhere.
Everything else I consider replaceable.
I love that so far quite a number have handbags with special documents … It’s a great idea to keep that handy. TY! 😉
The first photo is brilliant as is your poem. Fire is scary, I can’t imagine anything worse that can happen to your home. Lisa Rosenberg’s home was burnt down a few months ago and she hasn’t posted on her blog for a while, hope she is okay.
Who is Lisa! ? So sorry to hear that. Losing one’s home in a fire is so so, tragic. May all be divinely protected. TY! 🙂
