Small Stones
A walk on the beach
Cleansing salt water in the air
Pebbles everywhere
A few invite me in to dine…
When we take a walk on the beach, we go there not only to enjoy the ocean and get a tan, but to reconnect with something ancient in the air; perhaps the healing properties, the pebbles or sea shells we are drawn to. We stroll, we listen, we pick up a pebble or two… What did we see in those pebbles? What distinguished them from the sea of pebbles before us? How does this help us explore and, perhaps, make changes in other areas of our life? More below!

Comfy, cocooned, unexplored…
If we wish to see the world with new eyes and re-start our plans with a new slate, contemplation and observation are key tools.; what some term mindfulness. The WP Clean Slate prompt got me thinking and fits nicely with some of the quiet contemplative pursuits I’ve been exploring.
Recently, I took up the exercise of a Mindful Writing Challenge that exhorts us to note precise moments of engagement by keeping all our senses; eyes,(and ears, nose, mouth, fingers, feelings and mind) open. I’ve been AWOL, and will be back to follow up on your blogs soon… TY for your patience.
Happy January! This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Daily Prompt: Clean Slate. Explore the room you’re in as if you’re seeing it for the first time. Pretend you know nothing. What do you see? Who is the person who lives there?
Positive Motivation Tip: When we steadily tune out the noise and pay attention to our surroundings, we see with new eyes and find ourselves all over again.

I love walking on the beach and the stones there are different than any other place on earth. Knowing that sand has been ground down from every different type of rock makes me realise how long the earth has been working its magic 😉
True… that’s what it is! There is something ancient about a walk on the beach… It always brings up feelings of deja vu for me. 🙂
Beautiful. I love stony beaches. they are more interesting than the white/brown sand beaches we have in Jamaica!

Love the stones and how the water shapes them, smoothes out the sharp edges. I love walking on the beach, especially in winter, and pick up shells and stones.
