My Heroes are Peace Lovers
In words, actions, deeds…

“It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it.” Eleanor Roosevelt

“Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will be as one.” John Lennon

Haiku: Peace Lover...

Haiku: Peace Lover…

Be bold about Peace
connect, show compassion, love
My heroes love peace…

I’ve had my share of heroes in this lifetime; I can’t possibly pick just one. A few heroes are:  My parents who were my first teachers, my yoga/meditation teachers, my family and closest friends – I am grateful to all of them. What are your thoughts? What would you do to maintain peace? How do you contribute to making the world a peaceful place? Do share! Thank you. 🙂

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Daily Prompt: My Hero! Tell us about your hero.

*Please bear with me as I catch up on your blogs and commenting…I’m back on track; albeit at a slow pace. Thank you all for your patience! 🙂

Positive Motivation Tip: Everyone wants peace but few work passionately to protect it and ensure that others have a chance at it… Be a Hero and Act to support Peace for all.

Yeah, I noticed that. I never saw it before, my eyes always seemed to skim over it or not take it in

      • 12/12/2012 5:37 pm

Glad you noticed… I like the new gravatar photo of you. 🙂

Thanks for this post – yes, peace. My day has been absolute hell and now I know how to make tomorrow better. My mum (78) has broken her hip so I am doing masses of running around for her because she refuses to be in hospital, Husband, Anthony (nearly 77) is having mini-strokes in the nursing lodge and dementia is creeping up, son, Ming, still doesn’t have a car licence so I am doing 100kms per day just driving to and fro for all of them and I just wanted to escape until I read your post – saved by your bell!

    • 12/12/2012 5:39 pm

      Oh Julie dear! I’m sorry to read about your mom…Hope she’s on the mend. Sending virtual hugs to your mom, you, Anthony and Ming… will be over asap. Blessings too! {{{HUGS}}}

My mother was my hero and the peacemaker of the century. In the midst of turmoil, in a house full of chaos and occasional ugliness. She knew how to convince my brother, my sister, and me to go to sleep because tomorrow will be better. It always was.

    • 12/12/2012 5:42 pm

I love that about your mom… Great advice she gave too because we can look forward to better days, no matter what! TY! 🙂

Wonderful post Eliz, and the words of John Lennon’s song says it all. He was a lover of peace, and made it known in so many ways, doing his bit for Peace; I admire him for that.

    • 12/12/2012 6:24 pm

I did too… I love the images I found on Wikipedia that are tied to john’s peace project… TY for your feedback. 😉

I’ve always loved that John Lennon song. Peace in our time. Is it too wild a dream? “‘Da pacem Domine in diebus nostris.”

    • 12/12/2012 6:25 pm

      TY Adin,
Amen… and I hope it is not! Sometimes I wonder too. 🙂

  15. 14/12/2012 9:00 am

My prayer for 2013 is to get peace back within my immediate family. I am worn out tired over my kids not speaking to each other. It has to stop.
