Haiku: Stay Strong…

25/10/2012

“Follow your honest convictions, and stay strong.”  William Thackeray

Haiku: Stay Strong…

When it hurts, stay strong…
Tired, weary, sick with pain
Tangled love, fear filled

When it stinks, stay strong…
Vicious words, like dark weeds spread
Wounds left in its stead

Even if kind thoughts hurt, and our love feels frayed, hold on. Look inside, dig deep for the courage to make a way. We are never alone… Help is on its way.

“Heed the still small voice that so seldom leads us wrong, and never into folly.” Marquise du Deffand

Haiku: Stay Strong…

When it rains, stay strong…
Traitors come as suitors go
Speak, defend bullied

When it pours, stay strong…
Jaded life meets gilded cage
Gratitude, dig deep

If people cast aspersions your way, try to bully you every day, speak up, speak out and make it public. Look inside, dig deep for the courage to speak out. We are never alone… Help is on its way. More below!

“Live life not without fear, but with gallantry against it.”  Christian L J Silver

Haiku: Stay Strong…

When things turn, stay strong
Worry tunnels hold no light
Grace helps, this shall pass

When it shines, stay strong…
All things bad, do have an end
Dark night becomes day

If we are under any kind of hurt, we must seek help; the strength we get will make a difference. Stay strong but speak up. “The power of imagination makes us infinite.” John Muir  What are your thoughts? Do you seek help when attacked? Do you turn to inner courage to remind yourself to stay strong? Have you been personally touched by abuse? What has helped you? Do share! Thank you. 🙂

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Take a complicated subject you know more about than most people, and explain it to a friend who knows nothing about it at all.

*Please bear with me as I catch up on your blogs and commenting… I’m back on track with reading and responding to your blogs; albeit at a slow pace. Thank you all for your patience! 🙂

Positive Motivation Tip: Stay strong in good times and bad, but never forget to speak up and seek help from others.

My son and I had our third counselling session with a family therapist today and I am so glad we have sought help for his anger and my sorrow over the my husband/his father going into a nursing lodge 8 months ago. We were trying to figure it out all by ourselves but we couldn’t and the daily arguments were becoming ghastly. It has been extremely useful to let our crap out to an objective and professional person and gain insights from her observations. I have learned a lot about us – my husband, son and me – and it has been a relief to stop srrambling around inside my exhausted heart for answers and finally get help. I love this post – thank you so much for the thoughtful way your blog unfolds so richly.

Wonderful Haiku. Strength is a valuable tool to face many life challenges. I’ve had to use it many times. Love the quotes.

    • 27/10/2012 4:53 am

TY Angelia and everyday I am faced with reminders to use it…

As you know Stay Strong is my constant refrain. Keeps me strong even when life forces me to my knees. Forms the basis of Emotional Fitness Training. Pinned this on my Poems of Strength board. Thank you.

TY Katherine for your loving support… You are strong yet carry a small stick to help others grow. Blessings! 🙂

Forgot to point to the pin, if anyone is interested. Also have decided to make my Stories and Poems of Strength a public board so anyone can publish their poems or stories. All I ask is observe copywrite, particularly for pictures and give credit where credit is due. Here’s the point to E’s great poems. http://pinterest.com/pin/147141112796919610/

Wonderful quotes and Haiku! Stay Strong words of wisdom. When Navar’s father passed away I would say this over and over it really did help me to be strong in several very difficult situations.
I also think finding ones voice and seeking help from othesr is also a great thing.

    • 27/10/2012 5:16 am

I agree with you on seeking help when needed… I say this to myself tool. 🙂

      • 27/10/2012 6:36 am

If this bullying is in the present let me know how I can help. If this is in the present time my thoughts and prayers of stregnth are with you.I will stand by you so we can stand strong toether much better than standing alone. :+)

  9. 26/10/2012 1:33 pm

Three years ago I needed to be strong. I didn’t realise I could be until I needed to be. Being a negative type myself (not by choice) I appreciate your blog.

    • 27/10/2012 5:36 am

Glad to read that you made it through a tough time… We all, sooner or later, face challenges and our reaction makes the difference. TY Mary! 🙂

This is VERY appropriate for us, Elizabeth, as we in Jamaica have just been through Hurricane Sandy – the first “direct hit” we have had for a number of years! Many are suffering, especially in the rural parts of eastern Jamaica. We are giving thanks for the simple things in life. And Jamaicans are remarkably resilient.

    • 27/10/2012 5:39 am

Oh dear, dear Petchary… My prayers and heartfelt concern go out to all in Jamaica. Sorry to read about the losses. Hope you are doing okay.? I will come by soon to check in.

      • 27/10/2012 8:11 am

Yes – we are OK. The city of Kingston is almost back to normal. We are fine but I was up in the mountains, where there is still no electricity, water and damaged infrastructure. The rural areas are suffering, many homeless and stranded. But this is normal for us after a storm, I am afraid. There is never any mention of it in the international media… They focus on Cuba, Haiti, U.S…

      • 28/10/2012 12:51 am

Yes dear one… I noticed that it was barely mentioned on the news here… Sadly! 🙁

  11. 26/10/2012 6:30 pm

Beautiful photo, wonderful quote. Thank you, Elizabeth!

  12. 26/10/2012 7:49 pm

    Absolutely beautiful.

    • 27/10/2012 5:40 am

TY lady! Hope all is well? 🙂

      • 27/10/2012 6:59 am

Yes it is! Just busy getting back to life after a week away in Chicago. Now I have to ask, what does “Haiku” mean? Your writing is so incredibly gorgeous and how do you write your poems? 🙂 Beautiful. I just wish I had more time to read your posts. I have a whole backlog waiting. 🙂

    • 27/10/2012 11:40 pm

      I hear you… It’s a challenge all around. TY! 😉

  13. 27/10/2012 4:28 pm

I need reminders every day to “keep strong.” I have several of the “Keep Strong and Carry On” reminders all over the place. When they first started appearing in stores I gobbled them up and put them in strategic places to remind me to just that! When I’m feeling under too much pressure I withdraw for a while. I can’t always completely disengage from activity, but I let my mind rest and be still for as long as it takes. I have a faith system that supports me, and sometimes I just need a “people break.” I love the quotes, Eliz. In particular, that excellent haiku!

    • 27/10/2012 11:42 pm

What an excellent idea… I don’t remember them but love the idea of strategically placed reminds… On my Dining Table, I have a piece of artwork and I stuck a post it with the word BREATHE on it. Anytime I see it, I tune back into my breath to refocus and de-stress… works like magic. TY! 😉

  14. 28/10/2012 3:17 pm

And if you feel you’re at end of your rope, make a knot and hang on.
    Stay strong, my friend!

    • 14/11/2012 1:11 pm

True… Hang in in there and don’t despair. There is so much pain going around that we all need to be stronger and help each other. TY!

  15. 28/10/2012 5:57 pm

that was so inspiring Haiku…and I’ll be reminded of this
“Stay strong in good times and bad, but never forget to speak up and seek help from others”

    thank you so much..=)

    • 14/11/2012 1:14 pm

TY for checking in John! Hope all is going well for you. I’ve been out of the loop for a while but working my way back in. TY! 🙂

  20. 30/10/2012 4:59 pm

    Inspirational, Eliz!
Often the pain is much too strong, but these are good thoughts to remember. Even if you are alone, it is still important to stay strong and speak up.

    • 14/11/2012 1:21 pm

I concur… We do the best we can and keep pressing on even when the pain is so strong. TY! 🙂

  21. 31/10/2012 12:52 pm
