Inspiration: You Are The Lighthouse…

07/10/2012

“But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?” Albert Camus

Inspiration: You Are The Lighthouse…

We wish to tell you that storms will come, as it is part of the shifting of energy. The new replaces the old. When the transition takes place one must leave so the other can move in its place. There will be a lot of movement. It is spiritual and it is appropriate. We wish to tell you how to recognize that you are indeed the one assigned a lighthouse. “Get Out Of Bed” (p176) D. B. Ashuah, Conversations with Angels.

A few days ago, I heard about a horrific incident that occurred far, far away. Four innocent young men were taken from their families in the most inhumane, crude way. How could we call ourselves human if we treat each other with such depravity? With such intense hatred? Each of us can be the lighthouse that shines in times of darkness and offers comfort and hope in despair… Can we start by respecting the right to life? Can we start by choosing peaceful, calm ways to resolve disputes? Violence begets violence… it is never the best answer. More below!

“Anything you’re good at contributes to happiness.” Bertrand Russell

Inspiration: You Are The Lighthouse…

I am grateful for who God is in my life and for what he’s done. I will not take for granted the people, the opportunities, and the favor He has blessed me with. I will look at what is right and not what I wrong, I will thank Him for what I have and not complain about what I don’t have. I will see each day as a gift from God. My heart will overflow with praise and gratitude for all His goodness. This is my declaration. “Day 5” (p25) Joel Osteen, I Declare

As we go about our daily business, let us not forget to be grateful for all that enriches our lives. Some people live under such oppression that our liberties are a long lost dream to them. Each day is a gift and an opportunity to uplift others. If we cannot serve, we can lend our voice or our knowledge to help others… By being a blessing to others, we are doubly blessed…

Thank you for stopping by. What are your thoughts? What do you think would help shift hatred? Do you have stories to share? Do share? Thank you! 🙂

*Please bear with me as I continue to catch up on reading and commenting on your blogs… I’m halfway there. Thank you all for your patience! 🙂

I know the notion is ‘pie in the sky’ but if everyone would pay some good forward every day, even a smile, I think it could get contagious.
    It would be a start.

    • 09/10/2012 8:41 am

I am with you on that one… and a little pie in the sky is better than bitter lemons any day. TY for your comment! 🙂

It is sad that we live in a world where some don’t value the humanity in others. May those young men rest in peace and their families be comforted. Thanks for sharing your light and uplifting posts.

Thank you B! While I don’t want to retell the horrific story here, what it does is remind us that as a global community, we need to develop compassion for each other and stop the harsh judgements and reactions… 🙁

Btw, have you seen Joel’s Sunday TV program? It is quite uplifting but it might not be shown in your area.

Yes, we get it on one of the cable channels locally. It comes on early Sunday morning. Thanks for asking.. Joel is very inspiring and his message is always to uplift not diminish others. TY! 🙂

TY Tracy! Glad you enjoyed it… The block quotes are from the texts identified and the rest you know… There is so much going on and it is comforting to find some language to address it. Blessings! 😉

I am very familiar with Joel’s views. Awesome stuff.
        Double blessings your way. 🙂

It would take education and communication to shift hatred. Unfortunately, there are many who feed off hate in the world.

    • 09/10/2012 11:57 pm

For some reason, the hatred is growing… Some feel threatened and their only response is violence… We can each do a bit more and I believe this will shift too. TY! 🙂

I do not know the story of which you speak. I do know that many, many acts of cruelty spring from neglect and abuse from youth, a vicious cycle. The more we attend to the children, to nurture, teach and lead by example the better lighthouses we can be.

Yes true. The incident was reported on CNN and I can’t even add that here, but lets say it is a heinous crime. The imagery of a light house came to me because it provides light in darkness and that darkness can be in a community not just in the individual… My prayer is that our communities will grow as healing not hurting centers… The incident was a community one..sadly. Glad to see you here Karen TY! 😉

It’s really simple – we should all be showing love to one another – if we put this into action, there would be no violence, but peace the world over. Sadly, it seems out of reach for some.
    Inspiring post Eliz.

You are right Barb and it begins with each of us and how we treat others… TY! 🙂

I read about this incident only yesterday on Boomie’s blog and I felt so sad and yes, angry. What are we descending to as human beings?
“But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?” Is this harmony to be denied one just because one is at the wrong place at the wrong time? Lovely post, Elizabeth.

    • 10/10/2012 1:07 pm

It is truly tragic and that is why can’t even link to it… Yes, I read Boomie’s post on it too… Such depravity and disregard for human life… Cee, may God help us all! 🙁

In Science, we often encounter with the issue of trade off. To get something better, we often need to sacrifice something else. But we always try to limit the demerit we encounter and hope to get better results with very less loss. Similarly is the situation with our earth! There are good people and bad people out there, and whenever we do something, we try to get not involved the bad factors. But unfortunately, the number or say the ratio of dark forces in the society is increasing day by day. We need to find a way to limit them.

So true Shibin and we need lots of grace, goodwill, prayer and good action… Amma’s love and grace helps too. TY! 🙂

You’re full of good quotes here … my favorite … “Anything you’re good at contributes to happiness.” I hoping this one will work out … most. I might have to put this on my fridge.

    • 11/10/2012 12:31 am

TY dear one! Maybe they should add anything you are good at and get paid for on that that one… 😆

“This Little Light of Mine”…song sung when I went to Bible School and Sunday School when I was a little girl…expresses this so well…

TY! I love them too as they stand for all that is uplifting in the human spirit. 😉

I stay away from news. I don’t like hearing cruelties. I don’t even like to see those sympathy pictures they post on Facebook. I can say I do some little things for others. Volunteering for Habitat for Humanity or to our local hospital and donating a small portion to charities. Most importantly, I try my best to be human, and not act like an animal.

    • 22/10/2012 9:51 pm

Being a compassionate human is key… I agree with you that if we each did our bit, it would ease the burdens of many; instead of feeding on a diet of endless cruelty… I’m with ya. TY! 😉
