Musings: Share A Joke…

02/10/2012

“If you aren’t a naturally happy person, take time each day to cultivate that which brings you happiness.” Madisyn Taylor

Musings: Share A Joke… Send a laugh alert.

A recently hired junior manager at a multinational corporation, Joe X, puts his foot in his mouth…
On Joe’s fifth day at the office, he called the company canteen and ordered a sandwich. It didn’t arrive in 10 minutes as promised. After waiting longer than usual for his lunch order, Joe, already in a bad mood, decided to call the canteen extension… but out of fury and in error, he called the CEO’s private extension.
The following conversation ensued…
Joe: Can you crazy guys send up my lunch?
CEO: Who’s this? You must be crazy!
Do you know who you are talking to?
Joe: No, I don’t care! Where’s my food?
Who the hell am I speaking with…?
CEO: This is Cliff O, the CEO! Who the hell are you?
Joe: Really!? Do you know who you are talking to?
CEO: No. But you’re in deep trouble, Mister. Who are you?
Joe: OK good, see you later! He breathed a sigh of relief as he quietly dropped the phone, and muttered, “Thank God…”

A little humor can go a long way… If your day seems long and trying, take  a moment to find a joke or funny story.  Anything that puts a smile on your face will help shift the mood.

“Learn one joke today. Google “Jokes” if you have to. Share your joke with someone, in return for one back. It’s the little jokes that create a healing perspective for the BIG JOKE that is the mystery our life.” Robert Holden

Musings: Share A Joke… Lilyu runs from a joke.

Tester: Just imagine you’re on the 3rd floor and it has caught fire, so how will you escape?
John: It’s simple. I will stop my imagination!

Our imagination is powerful and humor can help us traverse it; especially when we are struggling with a decision or trying to come up with new ideas.  More below!

“The best ideas come as jokes. Make your thinking as funny as possible.” David Ogilvy

Musings: Share A Joke… The Absent-minded Professor

A barber, a bald man and an absent minded professor take a journey together. They have to camp overnight, so they decide to take turns watching the luggage. When it’s the barber’s turn, he gets bored, so amuses himself by shaving the head of the professor. When the professor is woken up for his shift, he feels his head, and says “How stupid is that barber? He’s woken up the bald man instead of me!” via Wikipedia

So the next time someone annoys you, or you find your patience meter running low, reach for a joke and watch your day transform from glum to plum. Enjoy it! What about you? What are your thoughts? What does humor add to your life? What type of funny stories do you enjoy? Do you have a joke to share? Do share! Thank you. :-)

*Please bear with me as I catch up on your blogs and commenting… Thank you all for your patience! :-)

Positive Motivation Tip: A good joke can carry us through a long day; learn and share a joke each day.

TY for being the first to comment, and TY Zemanta for offering up one of Tilly’s posts for the first time ever! 🙂

  2. 04/10/2012 4:07 am

    You are so right!

  3. 04/10/2012 5:08 am

I’m not good at remembering jokes (or much else these days, for that matter). I’m more of a spontaneous, stand-up comic sort of person. I just need to stand up more often. 😀
Always with the great incentives, Elizabeth. Thanks.

TY Gemma! I’m good with repartee but not the formally organized joke thing… But I’m always game for a good laugh. 🙂

I can tell a great joke (until I go tell the punch line, i always fumble it or forget it)—lol So thanks for making my day.

    • 04/10/2012 7:51 pm

TY for your honest feedback… The punchline can be tricky if we start laughing or forget it. 😆

As we watch the daily news and
listen to all the tragic stories…
our fingers eventually go to the remote…
and we find the channel who has this crazy
little yellow character that lives under the
sea in a pineapple house…bringing a grin to
our face and a laugh to our lips…
    Thanks…”Sponge Bob Square Pants”

    • 04/10/2012 8:06 pm

I like Sponge Bob too… though I haven’t watched the show in ages… TY making me smile too… 🙂

  11. 05/10/2012 10:14 am

I love print cartoons, and laughing at the antics of animals!

    • 05/10/2012 11:12 am

      I love that too… My cat always entertains… 😉

  12. 05/10/2012 2:41 pm

I also it helps if you don’t take yourself too seriously! I’m a natural joker and always taking the micky out of myself.

    • 05/10/2012 5:36 pm

I like that PiP! Humor helps a lot and even though I have a serious side, I do love a good laugh. TY! 😉

  13. 06/10/2012 4:46 am

I love silly jokes, and the absurd (such as the bald-man joke here:-)) but I’m a hopeless joke-teller.

    • 10/10/2012 7:22 pm

Same here… It helps take the edge off the doldrums… TY! 😉

  14. 08/10/2012 10:57 am

I can be quietly funny in an ‘any sharper and you’ll cut yourself’ way but as soon as I try to tell a joke it becomes the least funny thing ever!

    • 10/10/2012 7:38 pm

I bet you are funnier than you predict… 😉

  15. 08/10/2012 9:53 pm

TY you for your thumbs up… good to know! 😉

  16. 08/10/2012 11:40 pm

Love it. Humor helps me go trough life’s challenging times and it’s true that it is the best medicine there is. If we can laugh out our problems then we can survive anything.

    • 10/10/2012 7:41 pm

That is true… and it has helped me too. 😉 TY!

Two blondes are standing on opposite sides of a lake. One yells to the other, “How do you get to the other side of the lake?” The other yells back, “You ARE on the other side!” 😉

  18. 10/10/2012 10:10 pm

Liked all jokes. Sometime I think whole life is a joke taken too seriously.
Without humour we cannot survive Thanks for sharing. Now I know where to go when feeling depressed.

  19. 11/10/2012 12:30 pm

Awesome! I like the simple second one the most.

Whenever, I feel depress, my pill is watching a comedy or a sitcom. 😀 It works every time.

    • 22/10/2012 9:48 pm

Same here…. Humor goes a long way to cheer us up. It works for me all the time. TY! 😉
