Haiku: Thank You…

27/09/2012

“Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” Oprah Winfrey

Haiku: Thank You… Said in many languages conveys the same message – Gratitude

Soft pillows for rest
Love flies through the Internet
We must say Thank you

Good news breezes in
Through blog friends we have not met
Color me grateful

God gave you a gift of 86,400 seconds today. Have you used one to say ‘thank you’?” Dr. William Arthur Ward

Haiku: Thank You… The lion share of a grateful heart resides with the giver…

Lions sharing food
A thankful heart finds its home
In a grateful cave

A Freshly Pressed suit
Draws bees, wasps and new suitors
Heartfelt thanks ordered

“No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.” Saint Ambrose

Haiku: Thank You… Memories of a well placed Thank you lingers

Elephant in room
Caged bird croons a bluesy tune
Don’t despair… send thanks

Light the path with thanks
Brighten the sky with stardust
Nothing is enough

Titihoya sings
Friends and foe escape the fog
lifted by thank yous!

What about you? What are your thoughts? Have you said thank you today? Are you grateful for your life? Do you say thank you regularly? What are you grateful for today? What attracts your gratitude in nature? Do share! Thank you. 🙂

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: What are you thankful for?

*Please bear with me as I catch up on your blogs and commenting… I’m back on track with reading and responding to your blogs; albeit at a slow pace. Thank you all for your patience! 🙂

Positive Motivation Tip: Thank you… two words that carry a world of gratitude can make a difference in our day. Shout it out!

My friend, once again you gave us a priceless post filled with life’s wisdom. I agree, a thankful heart is a secret for a happy and peaceful life. And one way to to be thankful is to show a similar if not more kindness that was given to us. I believe that blessings rains for those who give without expecting in return.Have a blessed weekend.

Funny, but not. I had a little scare with my 90 year old mom the other day and I must have said thank you a million times when things went better than expected.
I had an MRI done yesterday. The crazy thing freaked me out! I felt like I was in a cofffin (Just guessing that what it feels like. Not that I sleep in one or really know how it feels or anything. LOL)
I closed my eyes and prayed – a lot! When I was done, I smiled and said Thank you, Lord.
I need to remember that when I’m not in a jam, or afraid, or freaked out by something that’s out of my control, to just say thanks for “in general”.
Just say “it’s in Your hand”. Then, “Thank you.”
Don’t usually go on this much. Next time I’ll condense :-).

    • 29/09/2012 9:26 pm

Feel free to say plenty… Hope your mom is doing better and you too! I write these posts to remind myself to do right. TY! 🙂

I guess I say thanks for something every day…
maybe more than one thing… It’s such an awesome world
… I just try and look closer around me… than too far away
… Out there it can be quite scary… don’t you think?

I enjoyed your Haiku this morning! :+) Some times when I’m drifting off to sleep I think about what I am greatful for and thankful for it’s a nice way to drift of to sleep.

  15. 30/09/2012 9:57 pm

    Lovely post as always.
    I particularly liked Oprah’s quote.
For some reason these days I am stuck in a place where I resent what I do not have, did not have, might not have… and it’s ripping me apart.
Guess I need to start to count my blessings with more vigor than I am doing now

    • 02/10/2012 1:13 pm

Amira, you are the best with self-reflection and you already know what to do… Years ago, I used to be so angry and then it made me sick. I count my blessings… so much healthier. TY! 🙂

TY Ce! I’m still learning the format as I tend to want to create rhyming sounds… I’m a work in progress. Thanks again! 😉

  17. 01/10/2012 5:25 am

    MERCI !:)

  18. 01/10/2012 10:28 am

I enjoy haiku, and you always provide some excellent examples. I do believe that “thank you” and a heart of gratitude is what grounds me in happiness. You can always find at least a kernel of peace, even in really difficult times, if you can access gratitude. What a great way to move into a new, very busy week! I’ll be reminded not to let go of the thanksgiving. D

    • 02/10/2012 1:17 pm

TY Debra and I am reaping the benefits of what you described so beautifully… In these difficult times, a heart of gratitude grounds me too. 🙂

  19. 01/10/2012 9:29 pm

Thanks for making my day with your haiku…you have to be on cloud 9-working so hard at your blog and being freshly pressed. I am still in joy for you. Love ya, Jackie

TY Jackie! I am grateful for the FP gift and I am thankful for all who have supported this blog… My prayer is that each of you will have the experience and gift some day too. 🙂

Hi Leanne! Me too and I’m still learning. 😉

  21. 02/10/2012 11:16 am

Being thankful. It’s so simple and yet so many of us tend to forget all about gratitude. I totally agree with this post!

    • 02/10/2012 1:20 pm

I’m with you on that one… We need constant reminders… at least, I do. TY! 🙂

  22. 02/10/2012 6:21 pm

Good quote by Oprah! Yes, I am very grateful. First and foremost, I’m grateful for those who are the most important people in my life. Two people top that list, my hubby and mother. They hold me up and help me make it through difficult struggles. What they continually give me in help, support, encouragement and love is immense.

    • 04/10/2012 7:07 pm

Fergie, TY for your beautiful comment and I am grateful for you too. I hope you will share your beautiful words with them. 🙂

  23. 07/10/2012 8:26 pm

Always good to be reminded about the two simple words we need to use both in words and in our actions.
    THANK YOU!
