Musings: Do Good And Give Anyway…

09/09/2012

“He who wants to do good knocks at the gate; he who loves finds the gate open.” Rabindranath Tagore

Musings: Do Good And Give Anyway…

If you are a giver and someone you have given to misuses your gift, don’t stop giving… just give to someone else. If you are a person that loves people and someone you love hates you, don’t stop loving… love someone else. Eventually, you will find people who appreciate your kindness and your love. Remember this, lots of people have been conditioned to not be able to accept purity of heart. They can’t take it in. Most times it’s not even their fault. It’s just what has happened to them on their journey in life. Tyler Perry

Over the weekend, I received an email from Tyler Perry that was so inspiring, I had to share parts of it with everyone… As a producer/director, Tyler has an incredibly busy schedule, yet, he finds time to connect with his spiritual side and share words of wisdom… May we all be blessed.

“We are here on Earth to do good to others. What the others are here for, I don’t know.” W. H. Auden

Musings: Do Good And Give Anyway…

Why is this so important? Because God blesses you according to what is in your heart. If you are being kind, giving, loving and sharing because it is in your heart and you are not looking for anything in return, then that is a heart that God wants to bless. If you change who you are because you’ve been hurt, then you’ve changed the thing that God wants to bless you according to, and that is your heart. The people who hurt you are not worth that. You can lose everything that you have, but don’t let anybody change your heart. Tyler Perry

No matter our circumstances, we can find opportunities to do good, treat others with love and respect, and even just for a moment, we will forget our our own burdens and fears… More below!

“The more we come out and do good to others, the more our hearts will be purified, and God will be in them.” Swami Vivekananda

Musings: Do Good And Give Anyway…

Kindness is an inner desire that makes us want to do good things even if we do not get anything in return. It is the joy of our life to do them. When we do good things from this inner desire, there is kindness in everything we think, say, want and do.” Emanuel Swedenborg

One thing I know for sure; the more we give, the more we receive. Even if, sometimes, it seems one sided, the universal intelligence and grace in the world eventually balances it all out. We do reap what we sow; if not now then later. Sow good seeds. Do good and give anyway. What about you? What are your thoughts? Are there Good deeds you missed doing this summer? How did you spend your time and what can you do this upcoming weekend? What final things do you plan to do for the upcoming holiday season? Do share! Thank you. 🙂

Positive Motivation Tip: We can always find ways to help others and commit to performing random acts of kindness… The psychic rewards are enormous. Try it!

When we dedicate ourselves solely to the well being of others, it is our own mind that becomes pure. When you give your friend a bouquet of flowers, you are the one who experiences the gratification of giving. You are the first one to enjoy the beauty and fragrance of the flowers. In the same way, you can derive happiness from selfless acts —– Mata Amritanandamayi Devi

Exactly! Oh Shibin, I didn’t know you were into Amma too… Glad to know! 🙂

      • 12/09/2012 10:44 am

I studied at Amma’s university, here in India, at Amritapuri and has met and interacted with her countless times. 🙂 I am eager to know your connection with Amma!!

      • 12/09/2012 10:48 am

WoW! What a small world. I met Amma in Canada about 9 years ago or so and have followed her teachings ever since. When she come to the US, I attend the programs and offer my seva to the programs… I do hope to visit the ashram in Kerala in the near future… It would be a wish come true. What a small world. I’m aware of the university and other institutes… Are you still in Kerala? TY for sharing this. 😉

      • 12/09/2012 11:02 am

Yes, I am still in Kerala as of now! I finished my course a year ago and is in a job hunt now. Amma’s birthday is coming up and usually, I would be at Ashram for the same in a weeks time as i do for the past few years! Unfortunately, i have a broken arm now, so I wont be able to attend her birthday this time! Do inform me a month in advance if you are planning a visit to Ashram, may be we can meet!!

      • 12/09/2012 11:05 am

Wishing you a speedy recovery on your arm… And yes, I will definitely alert you if/when I’m able to make the trip..It would be wonderful to meet another blogger across the world. TY! 🙂

      • 12/09/2012 10:07 am

I would love to read it, but can’t get into your post. It comes up with ‘use typekit.net’ and will go no further.:( I have the same problem with a couple of other blogs.

      • 12/09/2012 10:17 am

Is it because I posted in quick succession? Wow! That is odd. I wonder if the links I sent to the other DP writing challenge blogs are running some interference. Maybe later it will be fine. I’ll let Support know as I have no idea what that command means. TY!

Wonderful words to soothe the soul. Thank you!

Inspiring as always Eliz. Thank you.

TY Madhu! I appreciate your support always. 🙂

  12. 13/09/2012 11:02 am

It’s always healthy to spread goodness around us. When people do harm, it means they need that someone who will readily offer good than – what usually people do – give back the bad…
    Great post!

    • 13/09/2012 8:15 pm

TY I was inspired and reminded by Tyler’s email that it is always better to move on and do good anyway. 😉

  13. 14/09/2012 4:10 am

What a fine post, Elizabeth. Doing good and being kind to others is part of me so much that I feel so guilty if I am able to show kindess and refuse it. That guilt always drives me to to offering help whenver I can, be it cash or in kind. 🙂

    • 14/09/2012 5:22 am

I hear you.. and when I read the email it resonated with me too. TY for your feedback. 😉

  14. 17/09/2012 11:17 am

    I love flowers! 🙂

  15. 18/09/2012 6:58 am

When we give without expectation, we are never disappointed.

  16. 26/09/2012 11:53 am

Let not the left hand know what the right hand is giving! 🙂

    • 26/09/2012 4:58 pm

Yes, I remember hearing that line in church a lot. TY! 🙂
