Haiku: Auguries of August…

13/08/2012

Not a whit, we defy augury. There is special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, ’tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; if it be not now, yet it will come—the readiness is all. William Shakespeare

Everyone loves the fall. The coming of holidays, the cooling weather. Not me. I lament the death of summer. I love the heat, the long lingering days. The late sunset. Someday, I will live where the seasons don’t change. Yes, I am that odd one. Someone has to be! 🙂

    • 14/08/2012 12:32 pm

You are not odd. I like the heat too but can’t move to because of family ties and such… 🙂

I am impressed! Well, I should not be coming from a master of words as yourself. Having homeschooled my daughter, I deeply appreciate anyone that can Haiku. Stella was okay at it as long as it was sarcastic! My one and only was,,, are you ready?

    Haikus are easy

But sometimes they don’t make sense

Such a wonderful world…augury. Personally, I am tired of August. It’s no fun in the city…in the tropics!

  6. 14/08/2012 6:09 pm

That is a new word for me!

    • 18/08/2012 7:33 pm

Really? It is a play on Blake’s Auguries of Innocence. Remember that from 5th/6th Form days? 🙂

I love them both but the summer humidity is a drag, I agree. TY! 🙂
