Weekly Photo Challenge: CREATE… Breakfast, Museum art, street/outdoors art, family art. We live in a constant state of creation. From our purposeful daily routines, to our deliberate and focused creative endeavors, we are creating and re-creating; searching for meaning in our world. Because a lot of our actions are spontaneous, we forget to see the organic or intuitive creativity that goes into our responses. We wake up in the morning and start creating and embracing new worlds in and for ourselves. When I woke up this morning, I decided to forgo my oatmeal and coffee, for tea, fruit, and slices of delicious, toasted chestnut bread. I spread organic peanut butter on the bread and got a bit creative by sprinkling some golden flax on top… perfect.

Every day, from the time we wake up till bedtime and even beyond, our minds are actively creating tangible and intangible thoughts and actions. We create what we’ve imagined for our lives for that day, and we stay in that process of creating. It is like a TV channel that continues to show programming even after we’ve walked away from it… The mind, the heart, the internal machine churns on, flashing sparks of creative energy, brilliance and even flashes of genius throughout the day. For this week’s photo challenge on CREATE, I’ve pulled together a number of photos that show museum art, street art – or art we see on the street, family art, and a few eclectic pieces. I started the post with my own creation – Breakfast. I do hope you like the rest.

As I read Mary Wollstonecraft’s quote above, (she is the author of Frankenstein) It reminded me that we create things of pleasure and pain for ourselves. When we think about it, it makes sense. For example, there is the pain of childbirth that comes after the pleasure of conception which leads to the creation of life. Our lives are balanced between the world of pain and suffering, and the world of pleasure and joy. And it is all for our growth. More below!

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: CREATE Create. The best part about creating something is being in the moment, relishing the creativity you’re experiencing, and letting your actions guide you to an end goal. Then you can step back and admire your work! This W, the WordPress logo, was something many people from the team here at WordPress.com quickly created one night at dinner with some round magnets. We snapped a picture to preserve our creation from that night. Have you snapped a picture of something you’ve created, or something someone else has created?
Share a picture that means CREATE to you!

Positive Motivation Tip: We live in a state of constant creation. Each day we turn our thoughts to creative ways to complete tasks or share a meal. We enjoy the creativity shared by others and all of it adds to our joy. Embrace your creative life. Enjoy it!

    Robot at Ghibli Museum – wow. The detail with minimal use of color takes a special eye and a gift. Are both the twins interested in water and oil painting or is it just one with this gift? Man’s struggle an the balcony are also cool creations!

    I love the quotes and the idea that we are creating every aspect of our lives as each moment passes. Lovely post. 🙂

      TY Dee! I have to tell you that it is quite delicious and the chestnuts add a unique flavor to the bread. I get it at a local Bakery and they have the best stuff. I’ll look for a recipe and share it soon. 🙂

    I love looking at what photos you upload for the various challenges your blog platform offers. They are always interesting and your written observations are always fun. Is this a way to connect with new people? Do people get that goal when they participate and reciprocate? I ask because of the many blogs you showed links to for others to visit. I would imagine some appreciation from most of them. Does it take much to like another blogger’s post? I ask too many questions I know. This was a good one and your children are creative too. 🙂

      It is a great way to connect with others and some choose not to for whatever reason… I don’t get that either. Thankfully, many of us do like the chance to connect and you see the result here too. I’m grateful for the reciprocity. I visited and Liked every blog listed above and even some that I haven’t had a chance to include. I love the challenges and spend the time visiting others as it’s one way I know we can all connect. It is very easy to Like a post and all the blogs listed above have activated their Like button.

    Love your thoughts on this. That George Bernard Shaw quote opens my eyes too. “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” It’s so easy to be passive and see what unfolds in a day, but if we try to shape it ourself, it is so much more full and satisfying… like your breakfast!
