Cat Humor: Summer Fun Moments…

21/06/2012

“Dogs come when they’re called; cats take a message and get back to you later.” Mary Bly

Cat Humor: Summer Fun Moments… wake up at noon

I wake up at noon.

A juggling cat named Pierre
Liked to walk with his tail in the air.
When the girl cats passed by
They said, ‘My, oh my–
What a nice set of 🙂 🙂 lls you have there

The last couple of days have been oppressively hot … and a little humor goes a long way; helping us chill out a bit.  I’m an animal lover. I grew up with dogs and now have a cat. The goal of this post, with limericks added, is to be light, fun, and put a smile on your face.  Enjoy the humor and add one of your own if any scratches the surface of your funny bone.

“People that hate cats, will come back as mice in their next life.” Faith Resnick

Cat Humor: Summer Fun Moments… pamper moi

Pamper myself.

There once was a cat named Pat,
Who didn’t know where he was at,
He looked up and down,
and then turned around,
Ran into a wall and went splat!!!

“Cats are smarter than dogs. You can’t get eight cats to pull a sled through snow.” Jeff Valdez

Cat Humor: Summer Fun Moments… walk El Perro

Walk the dog.

There once was a toxic rat,
Who loved to slurp up fat,
He burped up a gopher,
That smelled of sulfur,
And also threw up a cat!

“Cats seem to go on the principle that it never does any harm to ask for what you want.” Joseph Wood Krutch

Cat Humor: Summer Fun Moments… Eat Fast

Eat something fast.

There once was a cat named Tigger,
Who ate and got bigger and bigger.
She went on a diet,
but she just didn’t buy it.
She quit and just got thicker!

“Do not meddle in the affairs of cats, for they are subtle and will piss on your computer.” Bruce Graham

Cat Humor: Summer Fun Moments… Chilling in Sun Fun

Sit in the sun.

There was a young curate from Kew
Who kept a tom cat in a pew
And taught it to speak
Alphabetical Greek
But it never got further than 😎

Yeah man!  Sitting in the sun and having such fun under the sun… 😉 More below!

“How we behave toward cats here below determines our status in heaven.” Robert A. Heinlein

Cat Humor: Summer Fun Moments… Hang with Puss 😉

Hang with my friend.

There once was a guy named Matt
Who had a sex crazed large cat
When it chased a mouse
It humped the whole house
So Matt got rid of the cat.

A single day is enough to make us a little larger.” Paul Klee

Cat Humor: Summer Fun Moments…Day is gone…. Shoop Snoopy!

The day is gone.

There was a fat cat on a mat
Who liked to chase mice named pat.
He chased them around
And fell on the ground
And smashed them until they were flat!

My blog friend Island Traveler of ThisMansJourney blog offers an Image of Life weekly photo prompt and this week he suggested Fun Under The Sun. Since I’m still a photography novice, my offerings tend to be limited to our WP Weekly Challenge. But I liked the topic enough to add some humor to it. Not all photos are mine. The first and the last photos are mine.
“If animals could speak the dog would be a blundering outspoken fellow, but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much.” Mark Twain

What about you? What are your thoughts? What cat humor can you share? What does humor add to your life? What type of funny stories do you enjoy? Do you have a touch of humor to share? Do share! Thank you. 🙂

*Please bear with me as I catch up on your blogs and commenting… Thank you all for your patience! 🙂

    Those quotes are hilarious.

Thank you! Glad you like them and thanks for stopping by. 😆

I love cats, but alas I do not have any right now. My dogs that “come when I call” would not tolerate a creature that is able to climb a tree to chase a squirrel, actually catch a rabbit, able to jump in my lap and arms, and able to fit in my bed. Unllike cats, dogs are jealous creatures.

    • 22/06/2012 10:05 am

They sure are… and cat are all about aloofness and such. TY for checking out this post.Happy Weekend! 🙂

  3. 22/06/2012 10:07 am

Not a cat lover….guess I’m in big trouble! Love this post, though.

  4. 22/06/2012 10:22 am

This is so cute and funny. I love cats, maybe especially because I’m a Leo, a cat-like person. Right now, we only have dogs in our home for a number of reasons. This post is making me want to go and get a cat. My first pet out of college was a black cat named Charlie who loved his food as my friends would say. He was the size of a large bowling ball and he was so charming and peculiar in his ways. I still miss him to this day! I love the quote that you could never get cats to pull a sled, that’s so true! 🙂

    • 22/06/2012 11:05 pm

I’m sorry to read about your Charlie! He did leave you with warm memories though right? Get a cat if you have the furniture for them to scratch up. 😆 TY for your comment. 🙂

  5. 22/06/2012 10:28 am

    Awesome!

  6. 22/06/2012 10:43 am

    • 22/06/2012 10:56 am

TY and I should have left the Cat out of the title ‘cos dog lovers might not like it… Oh well! 😆

  9. 22/06/2012 2:13 pm

When our children were growning up, we always had cats and dogs and bunnies and gerbils. I love the quotes…they are spot on about how cats really are. 🙂 Thanks, Eliz, for a post that brought many smiles. 🙂

  10. 22/06/2012 7:07 pm

You hit me perfectly…since my Jill is my pride and joy…We actually play hide and go seek…If I say, “Where’s Jill?”…she hides…If I say pee-pie and hide …she will find me every time…I loved the humor…just can’t remember good enough to share unless I write it down…Neat post~mkg

    funny ode to cat.

Yes and I figured you would relate as a cat owner. Actually, I should find one of your cat posts and add it to my links. Zemanta rarely gives me posts by bloggers I follow. I don’t know why. TY! 🙂

    My favourite cat quote:

Cats were once worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this.

      I like that… and they haven’t forgotten it. 🙂

Well you certainly put a smile on my face…I have two cats who are always entertaining

    • 26/06/2012 12:45 am

Yes, I can imagine double the fun. We have one and he entertains all day long too. 🙂

  22. 24/06/2012 2:24 am

I came to cat ownership very late. My first was an orphan 3 day old rescued by my Great Dane. Minx owned me for over a year, and was a constant delight and wonder! He just disapeared one day, we think he was stolen. It broke my heart.
Lola was my d-i-l’s, but elected to live with us when they moved. He owns my son and I equally. I am a besotted slave!

    • 26/06/2012 12:46 am

You crack me up with the being cat owned idea… but I get it. Ours acts the same way. 😆

  23. 24/06/2012 4:03 am

This was gorgeous – a total FEAST! I loved it 🙂

    • 26/06/2012 12:46 am

TY for stopping by, it was fun to write and put the limericks together. 🙂

  24. 24/06/2012 4:33 am

Haha – thanks for the laughs. Almost daily, our neighbour’s cat comes over the fence and “shouts” from the back door for my husband to come and brush him 🙂

  25. 24/06/2012 8:40 am

Obviously you understand cats. Me too!

Wonderful post… just awesome. Our two boys are turning 10 and getting old, but they are still fun. I have a little New Yorker cartoon pasted on the wall in their room that says “Food… Water… Tips” with bowls for each.

  32. 27/06/2012 8:48 pm

Thanks, this was a pick me up to my day!

  33. 01/11/2014 9:42 am

I absolutely loved this post. Cats are so cool. My old nasty beast is laying on my lap, interfering with my typing as I respond to your cute blog post. LOL.
