Inspiration: All Is Well…

16/05/2012

“For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don’t believe, no proof is possible.” Stuart Chase

Inspiration: All Is Well…

“I believe that the very purpose of our life is to seek happiness. That is clear. Whether one believes in religion or not, whether one believes in this religion or that religion, we all are seeking something better in life. So, I think, the very motion of our life is towards happiness…” Dalai Lama

How do you view the role of belief in your life? Are you struggling with a situation that has left you feeling vulnerable and scared? This post is an affirmation of the grace and goodwill that is available to all of us. If we can trust that our current challenges are lessons to help us grow, and that they are not who we are or a permanent condition, we can act with faith and breathe a little easy. All is well

“One life is all we have and we live it as we believe in living it. But to sacrifice what you are and to live without belief, that is a fate more terrible than dying.” Joan of Arc

Inspiration: All Is Well…

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge – myth is more potent than history – dreams are more powerful than facts – hope always triumphs over experience – laughter is the cure for grief – love is stronger than death” Robert Fulghum

What do you think All is Well means? All is Well is an affirmation of a positive outcome. It is also a blessing and a confirmation that whatever our pain, whatever distresses us will soon fade away and be replaced with good. I got some difficult news today and after the initial shock and worry, I turned back to these words of comfort and my belief that we are never alone in our struggles. All is well…

“These then are my last words to you. Be not afraid of life. Believe that life is worth living and your belief will help create the fact.” William James

Inspiration: All Is Well…

“Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do something, it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe I can, then I acquire the ability to do it even if I didn’t have it in the beginning.” Mahatma Gandhi

What steps do you take when handling difficult situations? After the initial panic, it is always best to get quiet and evaluate the situation in a clear and logical manner. You may seek the advice of those you trust, meditate/pray over the matter, and then weigh all your options before deciding what would be the best solution for the problem. Then act on it. Moving our feet even in the face of possible failure is better than doing nothing. All is Well… More below

God is at home; it is we who have gone for a walk.” Meister Eckhart

Inspiration: All Is Well… Grace for all

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.” Gautama Buddha

No matter what we are going through today or any other day, it is important that we treat ourselves with compassion and that we remember to name even one thing we are grateful for. This approach takes the edge off our worries and helps us regroup. Today, I am grateful for trusting in God’s grace and the counsel of the divine that speaks through others. All is Well…

Stay Inspired! What are your thoughts? How do you view the role of belief in your life? What do you think All is Well means? What steps do you take when handling difficult situations? What positive action or affirmation helps you handle difficulties in your life? Do share! Thank you. 🙂

On a side note, Congrats to Mark Zuckerberg and all the newly minted Facebook billionaires and millionaires. Their initial IPO  raised 16 billion and will raise billions more.  All is well for now…

Eliz…your posts are like the air after a rainstorm…clear, sweet, inspired! And what you say is so true…my dad had a heart attack at age 62…but never believed his doctors…he continued to believe that it was just a flukey reaction to stress…and lived, happy and healthy to age 87. 🙂 You and I have never met, but I keep you in my prayers and close to my heart.

    • 17/05/2012 12:42 am

Thank you Vi! I like your story about your dad. It confirms that adage what we believe, we become. Thank you for your prayers… Accepted with gratitude. 🙂

    dear Eliz,
yes, we need believe and optimism, but we also need the capability to think, to organize, we need perseverance and courage, empathy and friendship …

  7. 17/05/2012 1:14 am

Profound words by so many great minds! Thank you for sharing Eliz.

I’m not sure I agree with the first quote. I used to believe in God, then about age 10 I found that the evidence against there being a Biblical Deity God was overwhelming and I stopped. If I found counter evidence to suggest there was a God I’m sure I would change my belief again. For me, questioning is the route to my own truth. Enjoyed this thought provoking post. 🙂

I love this “For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who don’t believe, no proof is possible.”

I don’t believe this necessarily has to relate back to religion, I think as an individual you just need to believe in whatever you need to in order for you to keep going

  10. 17/05/2012 3:14 am

I believe in God and I believe he wants us to enjoy life to the fullest. I am sorry you have a new trial to face. Thinking of you!

Adverse events seem to come in waves, Elizabeth. I don’t have religious faith, but when confronted with a challenge do what you have said here about evaluating the situation – I just take one step at a time and deal with what I can manage – I no longer try to solve things all at once

As you might have guessed I totally agree with this – before we do anything we have to have a long, hard think and see if we really believe we can succeed and then we will!

  15. 17/05/2012 5:42 am

Every word is true. The power of belief requires belief itself. Once you understand how to use your mind to acquire a state of being you can have peace. That is priceless and such a difficult concept to convey effectively, but you do it with ease.

  16. 17/05/2012 5:57 am

Right on target!…With depression, loss of work, home foreclosures, sickness, loss of loved ones, upheavel with our political leaders and our government in such dire straits…Without faith in my Lord…I would not have the hope that keeps me going…Comfort, guidence, strength, direction, knowledge and above all LOVE…Something…someone…to hold onto…Giving us answers when we need it…”Faith” that will sustain me in all consequences and circumstances that come at me…Just have to remember to turn to Him and not let ME get in the way…God is HOME…Don’t walk away!…~mg

Such an inspiration. Thanks for sharing Eliz.

  19. 17/05/2012 9:12 am

I love the Meister Eckhardt quote…my personal faith is an anchor to me, but I have a habit of walking at least a little fast sometimes! Great inspiration this morning, Eliz! Debra

  20. 17/05/2012 10:52 am

As always…inspiring! Personally, my positive affirmation amongst the obstacles life can challenge me is to simply smile to myself. It provides an automatic lift in spirit.

  21. 17/05/2012 11:00 am

too much to say ..too little time and as usual your post has me thinking. In a nut shell. The Meister Eckhart quote comes close.
I believe we are simply trying to get home. Our journey on this plane of existence is about finding the way back to the Divine and that the Divine is our source of strength & inspiration within us. I honestly believe that The Beloved does not care how we get there, and its not so much the path that we choose (and it is a choice) but the intention behind each step we take.
    Great post!

  22. 17/05/2012 11:42 am

Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. Thank you for this gem of wisdom. Sharon

  23. 17/05/2012 12:36 pm

Great post. I love those quotes. I shall come here when my inlaws stay with me next week 🙂

  24. 17/05/2012 3:19 pm

Inspiring quotes to make us think.
I believe we can accomplish anything if we put our mind to it and want it bad enough. When a difficult situation arises in my life, I always say to myself “this too, shall pass” and deal with it accordingly; it helps. Nothing stays the same.
I believe that happiness is what we are all striving for in this crazy world that we live in.

  25. 17/05/2012 6:10 pm

I always remember that no matter how bad the situation is, it could always be worse!

  26. 18/05/2012 2:53 pm

  27. 18/05/2012 3:06 pm
