The Temptations – Get Ready (1966)

Ready or not, time and life marches on, carrying along our memories of all its offerings; the bountiful, beautiful, bothersome and even the plain old boring… When do we ever feel ready? For this challenge, I found myself gravitating towards two specific groups of examples; food and transportation. Interesting, I thought… until I took a closer look. We need food as fuel to get our minds and bodies ready for everything else. We need all kinds of transportation to take us from point A to point Z so we can be ready for whatever awaits us at the other end… Enjoy the selections and come back for more. Few words, more photos. 😉

The local farmer’s market had baskets of tomatoes ripe and ready to be consumed. I debated using it as the lead photo. I was drawn to the colors and the baskets. The Gelato ices were shot at a popular New York City Patisserie – Veniero’s Pasticceria.

On a trip to Germany, I switched flights and took an Air Berlin commuter plane for my final leg from Dusseldorf to Munich. As anyone who has flown them will share, Air Berlin offers superlative service and cute little heart shaped chocolates when you disembark… Loved it. The Mustang was in our local car dealer shop. I was drawn to the bright orange shade and imagined going for a quick spin in the car; just for fun. More Below 😉

For years, I rarely ate breakfast because I hardly ever felt hungry in the mornings. Now I swear by it. Breakfast is an important foundation to our day. Even a piece of fruit and a cuppa would suffice. The set table and meal were part of a Thanksgiving celebration. With Valentine’s Day around the corner, many are ready to celebrate love and all it stands for… Are you ready?

The bird above is a straggler from my recent seagull photo excursion, and the water was served at a lovely little cafe upstate, NY. The cafe bakes its own bread daily and had a deadly chocolate chip pecan pie. WoW! Our photo challenge on READY wasn’t a piece of cake, but the more I thought about it, the more I found photos that I felt might speak to the challenge. My fellow bloggers were equally creative with their selections too. I listed several below. Check out how other bloggers interpreted the theme READY below. *** What are your thoughts?       You wouldn’t believe it, but I resisted getting a slice that day and have been kicking myself ever since. I will visit the cafe again and share the results. Stay tuned for a dive into decadence… 😆 TY!

    I want to now feast, feast, feast and fly, fly, fly!!! Such a glorious celebration of food and transportation! Also, I really appreciate the quotes on making decisions about how to act upon challenges, especially the totally unexpected one! Mr. Coelho was very wise.
