Inspiration: Empower Yourself…

24/01/2012

“Empower yourself and realize the importance of contributing to the world by living your talent. Work on what you love. You are responsible for the talent that has been entrusted to you.”  Catharina Bruns

Serendipity helped me strike gold today. I was contemplating the idea of not writing a post, when Erica V, one of our Daily Post coordinators, posted a brilliant piece on using inspirational quotes as a way to stimulate our creative juices. Her post was the impetus for this one; plus I loved the quote she shared and have used it above. I always use quotes on my blog, and I enjoy searching both online and offline for the right quotes to fit a post. However, as we all know, there are days when nothing quite registers and we have to keep an open mind/eye to other possibilities.

Part of empowering ourselves involves trusting that we can accomplish the goals we envision, and that guidance comes through many channels. We must move our feet first… How do you empower yourself?
As I read Erica’s post and followed her link to Brain Pickings, one thing led to another, and, including the picture above, I found the following inspiring sites worth visiting:
Work Is Not A Job:  An Inspiring concept and design studio owned by Catharina Bruns
TentBlogger:  A fellow blogger offers a great post with inspirational quotes
Holstee.com:  An Innovative store that encourages us to consider a lifestyle design with a conscience.
When we take action to enrich our lives and minds, we are empowering ourselves… More below. 😉

“I keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love, and abundance. Then, whenever doubt, anxiety, or fear try to call me, they will keep getting a busy signal-and soon they’ll forget my number.” Edith Armstrong

What The Bleep Do We Know: Down The Rabbit Hole ( Part 1 of Movie )

Do you know you have control over your reality?  What The Bleep… explores the subject in great depth. When we allow negative thoughts and ideas to permeate our space, we create pockets of doubt that can grow and become debilitating. It takes commitment and a conscious effort to stay attuned to the positive, and to believe that we are capable of making lasting changes in our lives. Speaking up, sharing knowledge, and keeping the company of good thoughts are empowering. The words on the poster above exhort us to stand up for what we believe. That too is empowering…

What are your thoughts? How do you empower yourself? Do you know you have control over your reality? Are there some doubts that keep surfacing because, maybe, you don’t trust yourself? What do you do to gain clarity? Do share! Thank you. 😉

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Where do you find inspirational words? Better yet, what’s your favorite quote that you’ve written yourself?

Positive Motivation Tip: Explore each door that comes your way; wisdom and divine jewels can be found there: Empower yourself.

I’m answering only one question here; I think you’ll guess which one!

My fear is finite; my strength, in a way I could never have understood without these experiences, boundless.

The rest, I will reflect upon!

I don’t know the answer to the question but thanks for asking it, Elizabeth – it is serendipitous in my life at the moment in fact. And thanks for this video – I have just watched a few minutes of it but plan to watch the rest later – it looks great.

it took me a while to figure out that only I have some what control over my journey and happiness… I do believe some what in karma and destiny… but no matter how or who has chosen my path it is up to me to make it beautiful!

I think I empower myself through others… That is, through my connections with others. Even if only with my husband!

Meditation definitely helps to bring clarity. Also, walking or any exercise strengthens me and makes me feel empowered.

I saw “What the bleep…” a couple of years ago and it has stayed with me and challenged me to really think about the interconnectedness of my thoughts and actions on my sense of well-being and empowerment. It takes a little effort to shake off the negativity that is always lurking and ready to pounce. I pray and meditate and nourish my spiritual life. It doesn’t just happen, it takes commitment and intention. Great quotes…glad you decided to post after all! Debra

Ditto on the quote in the photo. Life is too short to not be doing what you love.

I love the text art in this. My son is a graphic designer and loves all things text….he would enjoy this.

This makes me think of your post about point of view – half full or empty? Life is short. What you make of it is in your control. Make the best of it! xx

I am doing your trick, E, and trying to catch up. I’ve got awfully behind with the events of the past week!

Right at this moment in time I’m not sure where my empowerment comes from, but I’m still moving forward, so it is coming from somewhere. My family, most likely.

  28. 01/02/2012 4:04 pm

I empower myself by recreating my reality. It is not enough to simply crave change, but to make it happen.

Life is long. Deal in the positive only. Keep the positive thoughts positive without throwing in the negative
