Mandala: The Sacred Circle & Divine Art…

“I knew that in finding the mandala as an expression of the self I had attained what was for me the ultimate.” – C. G. Jung

Mandala: The Sacred Circle & Divine Art...

Mandala is the Sanskrit word for sacred circle, and they are concentric circles imbued with prayers and divine intentions which makes them a form of sacred art. I came across my first mandala many years ago when I got involved in yoga and meditation. The Ashram I spent time in created gorgeous colorful sand mandalas for special occasions, and one could feel the pulsation of love as you walked by each creation.

“Within the circle of a perfect one there is an infinite community of light.” Hafiz

Mandala: The Sacred Circle & Divine Art... Energy is eternal delight

Today, we can find beautiful mandalas all over the internet. However, I’d like to share some from one of my favorite mandala creators. Keith Allen Kay of Fractal Energy Mandala.com creates mandalas that resonate with positive energy and blessings. He also makes individualized mandalas for people on request. Each creation is powerful and sacred, and the blessings of the mandala are received by all who are open to the idea.

“A mandala is a bi-dimensional design that represents a multidimensional experience.” Luis Daniel Maldonado Fonken

Mandala: The Sacred Circle & Divine Art... Awaken the infinite self

Mandala: The Sacred Circle & Divine Art...

Typically, before a mandala is created, the artist takes some time to contemplate and meditate on the purpose of the design. Why is it needed? What is the occasion? What message of blessing needs to be conveyed? An inner prompting or idea about the mandala arises within and then it is created with great love and focus; often in a meditative state. I have found that mandalas created purposely to help and heal humanity can be quite powerful for those viewing them. They have a calming effect and can be used as a meditation aid and to create sacred space wherever we are… Above and below are some of Keith’s stunning creations. Enjoy!

“Come out of the circle of time
and into the circle of love.” Rumi

Mandala: The Sacred Circle & Divine Art... Freedom to be...

Mandala: The Sacred Circle & Divine Art...

Sacred or Divine Art is ubiquitous in all religious traditions and they represent the creative connection the human spirit has with the inner self; the soul. Like other forms of the creative arts, these artistic pieces are inspiring and are a great reminder of the beauty that dwells inside all of us.

“The nature of God is a circle of which the center is everywhere and the circumference is nowhere.” Empedocles

Mandala: The Sacred Circle & Divine Art... Gratitude...

Mandala: The Sacred Circle & Divine Art...

Gratitude is an important quality that we all need and it is apropos to end this post with a gratitude mandala. When we remember to express gratitude for all we do, we open the door to more blessings. Enjoy the sacred art and share your views below. What are your thoughts? Are you familiar with Mandalas? Do you believe Sacred Art is imbued with prayers and blessings? Have you ever created one? Do share! Thank you. 😉

Positive Motivation Tip: If we keep an open mind, a mandala can be a doorway to our creative spirit.

These are gorgeous Mandalas. I really have never had a good understanding of their meaning, I just admired them for their complexity and beauty. It’s a beautiful thought to consider that sacred art is created with a blessing and the power to encourage and inspire. I did want to share that I had to click on the date of this post for it to launch properly. I hope others will do that…it would be a shame to miss a word–or delightful picture! Namaste, Debra
