Mandala is the Sanskrit word for sacred circle, and they are concentric circles imbued with prayers and divine intentions which makes them a form of sacred art. I came across my first mandala many years ago when I got involved in yoga and meditation. The Ashram I spent time in created gorgeous colorful sand mandalas for special occasions, and one could feel the pulsation of love as you walked by each creation.

Today, we can find beautiful mandalas all over the internet. However, I’d like to share some from one of my favorite mandala creators. Keith Allen Kay of Fractal Energy Mandala.com creates mandalas that resonate with positive energy and blessings. He also makes individualized mandalas for people on request. Each creation is powerful and sacred, and the blessings of the mandala are received by all who are open to the idea.

Typically, before a mandala is created, the artist takes some time to contemplate and meditate on the purpose of the design. Why is it needed? What is the occasion? What message of blessing needs to be conveyed? An inner prompting or idea about the mandala arises within and then it is created with great love and focus; often in a meditative state. I have found that mandalas created purposely to help and heal humanity can be quite powerful for those viewing them. They have a calming effect and can be used as a meditation aid and to create sacred space wherever we are… Above and below are some of Keith’s stunning creations. Enjoy!

These are gorgeous Mandalas. I really have never had a good understanding of their meaning, I just admired them for their complexity and beauty. It’s a beautiful thought to consider that sacred art is created with a blessing and the power to encourage and inspire. I did want to share that I had to click on the date of this post for it to launch properly. I hope others will do that…it would be a shame to miss a word–or delightful picture! Namaste, Debra
