On 11-11-11: Seek Peace Within…

11/11/2011

“If in our daily life we can smile, if we can be peaceful and happy, not only we, but everyone will profit from it. This is the most basic kind of peace work.” Thich Nhat Hanh

On 11-11-11: Seek Peace Within... A unique numerical alignment calls us to reflect...

Most of us have waited for this unique and rare numerical event to occur -11-11-11; a day that some predicted would be memorable, magical, dull, typical, divine and a slew of other adjectives that one could find to fit the occasion. Depending on where you are located in the world, you’ve either celebrated the day, its corresponding numbers or gone to bed, or still in the throes of trying to make meaning of it all. Some have said that we are all suffering from a mild case of apophenia defined as the act of “seeing meaningful patterns or connections in random or meaningless data.” Regardless of how we view these series of numbers, what becomes crystal clear is the fact that it has captivated people around the world and we are all talking about it, interpreting what it means and doing our best to make it memorable…

“Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Imperative to all the conversations around this unique day is what we could do to make the memory and impact of this day stick in our hearts and minds. On the spiritual path, many have said that this day is a sign of the cleansing and shifting winds of a world in turmoil. It is apropos that on this day, we also honor Veteran’s Day known as Remembrance Day or Armistice Day; a time when we gather to honor those who fought for world peace. So it is appropriate to encourage all to seek peace within on this special day. In remembering those who fought bravely to keep us safe, we must use this opportunity to decide what peace means to us, and then dig deep within for our own version of same.

“Each one has to find his peace from within. And peace to be real must be unaffected by outside circumstances.” Mahatma Gandhi

In’Easa mabu Ishtar is both an international spiritual teacher, counselor and an Ascended Master Channel working with the spiritual Masters for the past seven years. She put together the below on finding and bringing peace within ourselves. One thing that has occurred, globally, with this special day is that it has made all of us pay attention to the present; to focus on the now… that is a good thing as we can use that impetus to explore further. Enjoy it.

HOW TO BRING PEACE WITHIN YOU
When you feel uncomfortable or distressed in your life, be conscious that you are sitting in resistance to your Divine Truth.
A part of you is in separation and chooses to be shut down, defensive and protective.
When you allow fear to overwhelm you then you have no process to transform this energy.
Choose to be PRESENT in all situations in your life.
Stop whatever you are doing and breathe deeply to allow the energy to flow within you.
Remember to ask for your Divine Self to be Present.
Open your heart and mind to Receive your Divine Self.
Ask for wisdom, clarity, support and unconditional love to fill you.
BECOME PRESENT
Accept the feelings of conflict, fear, struggle, and discomfort.
Choose to reconnect to your Higher consciousness.
Release your feelings to the Divine Self – to God. Speak to God about them, share them with God and surrender them to God.
Then choose to see yourself and your life through the eyes of your Divine Self and not your Ego Mind.
Then peace will fill you and you will have the clarity of Divine truth once more in your life.

As always, there is More Below. 🙂

“To be at one with God is to be at peace … peace is to be found only within, and unless one finds it there he will never find it at all. Peace lies not in the external world. It lies within one’s own soul.” Ralph Waldo Trine

On 11-11-11: Seek Peace Within... The Gift of Peace...

According to many spiritual teachers around the world, The Ascended Masters see the arrival of 11-11-11 as a consciousness gateway opening paths/doors to help humanity move into higher energies or vibrations of peace and wisdom. There is now an urgent call for us all to surrender our fears, open our hearts and receive the blessings of God; to consciously receive grace. We are all connected to the universal tree of life and as we continue to wish that others thrive, so we are blessed with same.

“Peace is that state in which fear of any kind is unknown.” John Buchan

On 11-11-11: Seek Peace Within... Peace Arch... honoring the dead...

As we wrap up this special day and focus our energies on the coming holiday season; Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, and other days of celebration, let us not forget to give thanks for the blessings we have received to date. Let us also add Peace to the top of our special list of gifts we plan to share with family, friends and ultimately, with the world. May peace prevail in our hearts… Personally, I’ll miss having more days like this… the next one will be on 12/12/12. 😉 What are your thoughts? What does this day mean to you? Do you believe in numerology and some of the predictions? How do you honor Veterans Day? Do share! Thank you. 🙂

This post was inspired by a Numerological Rarity and a prompt from WP Daily Post: What Do You Miss?

Positive Motivation Tip: On special days like this one, we must go inside and reflect on what it all means to us; to each of us.

    Peace be with you! thanks

I really wish I had read this beautiful post earlier in the day…it is now the 11 pm, 11-11-11! I had a very busy day, a good one, yes, but not particularly Mindful. I think your posts encourage me to pay more attention to that, so thank you. I don’t tune into numerology, and I don’t get too wrapped up in the way dates line up to make numerical patterns. But I think holidays, numerical patterns, and anything that captures our attention can become a focal point for us to slow down and take notice. I do believe it’s time to focus on gratitude and to cultivate peace. You seem to do that well. Lovely and thoughtfully composed post, Elizabeth. Debra

When we stopped our daily activities yesterday at 11am and observed the 2 minutes silence in memory of those soldiers killed in action I reflected not only on the dead, but also on the living. The parents who had lost their sons and daughters and for what? With sons of my own the pain must be too great to bear at times.

War is pointless. The governments playing a game of human chess we peoples lives.

Thank you Elizabeth, for a lovely article.

“Nothing can bring you peace but yourself.” Love this, Elizabeth! You’re so right in conveying the potent message of peace. War only brings death and even more hate – it is no solution to the troubles that plague mankind. “To be at one with God is to be at peace.” ..totally agree.

And thank you for the ping! 🙂

Another beautiful and inspiring post my friends. The words just flowed sweetly, warming the heart with thoughts that nurtures the heart and mind. Seeking inner peace and finding it is like having a glimpse of what it’s like in heaven. Thanks for sharing “how to bring peace within you.” Every word speaks of the truth and how we choose to accept and live that truth will determine if we are close to getting that peace. In a way it’s a gift and once we have it, we should nurture and treasure it. A blessed day to you and your family always.

    …my friend….Sorry for the extra s. I ‘d been up for 12 hours now…

  8. 12/11/2011 5:43 am

My son told me at school they had a moment of silence for our war veterans and those killed in battle at 11 a.m. While I observed Veteran’s Day, the date 11/11/11 reallly didn’t register.

Beautiful! I am reading this after the 11:11:11 but I felt so peaceful reading your words and the quotes. In’Easa mabu Ishtar ‘s reminder to invite the Divine in our lives caught my attention.

Well written and said today Eliz. I have to say that I slept most of 11-11—I also wanted to say that I have family that has not struggled as I have and they expect me to pay them back – what ever!!

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other. ~Mother Teresa,

I wasn’t mindful of the day/date, but as 11:00 am approached, I was driving through beautiful, rolling Amish hills with two old friends.

  15. 13/11/2011 7:56 am

Eliz, this is truly one of my favorite posts. The sequence of numbers may have meaning to some not others. The point I got was to be present Nd get meaning from each day.

Going backward to catch up to you now! This one is amazing. It’s like you read my mind as to what I need and there it is!! LOVE the How to Bring Peace Within You. Thank you for sharing this. 🙂

Wish I had read this the day of.
All day long, I kept thinking I was forgetting something. The next day, I realized it was my aunt’s birthday — and I’d totally forgotten it. It was a peaceful day, nonetheless. I chose to stay close to home.

To acquire peace, one must seek and pursue peace.
    Jehovah is the God of peace (1Co 14:33; 2Co 13:11; 1Th 5:23; Heb 13:20) and the Source of peace (Nu 6:26; 1Ch 22:9; Ps 4:8; 29:11; 147:14; Isa 45:7; Ro 15:33; 16:20), it being a fruit of his spirit. (Ga 5:22)

Those who desire to seek and pursue peace must therefore “turn away from what is bad, and do what is good.” (Ps 34:14) Without righteousness, there can be no peace. (Ps 72:3; 85:10; Isa 32:17)

Jehovah, our God, will restore peace and happiness. Revelation 21:1-8
