Inspiration: A Perfect Meal…

14/07/2011

“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.” J.R.R. Tolkien

Inspiration: A Perfect Meal... An abundance of fruits and vegetables

Describe a perfect meal: When I read the WP Daily Post prompt on a perfect meal shared, I tried to imagine what it would look like and who would be there. The more I thought about it, the more it seemed to me that if there was a chance to share a meal, a memorable meal, I would prefer a fabulous feast that was open to all; especially the hungry and the destitute.  It would be a world bash; celebrated simultaneously globally. Everyone will enjoy the foods shown in the pictures and have enough to take away… This post is dedicated to all who are touched by hunger in our world. My wish is that we will be generous with each other in this world and share a meal with those who have none.

“There are people in the world so hungry, that God cannot appear to them except in the form of bread.” Mahatma Gandhi

Inspiration: A Perfect Meal... Bread of life...

What will you eat? We will break bread and enjoy a wide array of foods on tables laden with fruits, vegetables, cheeses, nuts, and every imaginable, specially prepared dish representing the foods of every nation. Every child will choose the bread they wish to eat and enjoy the dessert of their dreams. Everyone will be nourished with food and drinks. All types of drinks will flow; from water to wine. There will be no empty stomach and all will be satisfied. Desserts and food choices will be abundant. Ice creams, cakes, baked goods and more will flow freely. Prayers and songs of gratitude will ring in the air and we will rejoice. Will you be joining us? What will you bring?

“Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside” Mark Twain

Inspiration: A Perfect Meal... Dinner with friends - old and new

Who is there? This is a global celebration to end hunger and everyone will be there. Those who cannot attend will have their meal delivered. You will not need a special invitation. You will not need to buy an expensive ticket or belong to an exclusive club. All will be welcome at the abundant table and you may eat till you are full. There will be plenty of leftovers to take home. What dish would you contribute? What would you like us to add?

“Food is our common ground, a universal experience.” James Beard

Inspiration: A Perfect Meal... Just desserts

Are you outside, or inside with a view? We are outside in a beautiful meadow with low cut green grass, colorful wild flowers,  rolling hills and a clear meandering brook flowing nearby. The sun is shining brightly and a soothing breeze brushes against our faces and shoulders. We are the picture of contentment and happiness. Nary a soul is sad for all have had their fill.

Cultivation to the mind is as necessary as food to the body.” Marcus Tullius Cicero

Inspiration: A Perfect Meal... Sharing fine wines

A view of what? The view we see outside and around us of the beautiful meadow, described above, cannot compare to the radiant sun shining within. It is the sun of gratitude and grace confirming that, finally, greed has taken a permanent vacation and that common goodwill towards our fellow humans has prevailed.  At our perfect meal event, everyone will acknowledge that a new day has dawned on earth… What about you? What are your thoughts? What would your meal look like? Who would you invite? Do share! Thank you. 😉

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Describe a perfect meal. What will you eat? Who is there? Are you outside, or inside with a view? A view of what? It can be an imagined place and meal, or a real experience you want to have someday.

Positive Motivation Tip: Food is a gift from God; eat to live and then share some…
