Affirmations: On Healing…

12/07/2011

“The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore the physician must start from nature, with an open mind.” Philipus Aureolus Paracelsus

Affirmations: On Healing… Flower from Senna alata – medicinal Candlebush Tree

Affirmation: the act or an instance of affirming; state of being affirmed. 2. the assertion that something exists or is true. (Dictionary.com)
What do you need to affirm? What do you need to heal? When I started this post, I imagined a healing tree firmly rooted in the earth with tentacles reaching out into the universe; touching and healing everyone and everything in its path. The tree affirmed all life and we did same. I believe in the reverberating power of a positive act, honoring the body’s innate generative intelligence, coaxing our healing and helping us seek expert counsel. I’m aware that when we visualize a positive outcome for difficult situations and consciously take actions that benefit all, no matter what the end result produces, even if our worries don’t fully cease; we have acted for the collective good… Think good, healing thoughts, for we are what we plan to be… By serving the collective, we begin healing ourselves. ~ My body is strong and healthy.

“The only work that will ultimately bring any good to any of us is the work of contributing to the healing of the world.” Marianne Williamson

Affirmations: On Healing… healing hands & positive thoughts…help

I was going to write about the power of positive affirmations and positive thinking as additional aids to help us address, forgive, and heal a wide range of emotional, mental and physical matters; abuse, betrayal, anger, disease and such. However, affirmations work best when our blessings are focused and directed with an open heart to also help others heal. They do not replace professional care but serve as a complement to other healing options we explore. When there is reluctance to seek help, we can encourage each other to seek healing and send healing through our prayers, thoughts and via Reiki or energy. Sometimes, words are not enough.  Every step we take visualizing a positive outcome in our lives and the lives of others, is a step honoring our own healing… ~  All is well in my life.

“Healing, Papa would tell me, is not a science, but the intuitive art of wooing nature.” W. H. Auden

Affirmations: On Healing… Light a healing candle and share the flame…

Healing doesn’t occur in a vacuum. Our daily interactions, our thoughts, our positive actions and efforts contribute something to the whole. We are always in the process of regeneration; renewing and healing ourselves and, by extension, offering hope and thereby healing energy to others. Healing is about doing the necessary soul and body work before us; caring for our well-being, being compassionate with ourselves and others; paying attention to our stuff, extending our insights and knowledge on what helped our healing process to others, which invariably opens the door to help another heal. By sharing the flame of healing and love, we touch all. ~ I am a conduit for peace, bliss, and blessings.

“Healing is a matter of time, but it is sometimes also a matter of opportunity.” Hippocrates

Affirmations: On Healing… Barnstar of Life…

As in all things that matter, patience is an important part of the healing process. When we struggle with a condition, it helps to retreat, for a little bit to reflect/meditate and consider the problem carefully. We also need to take the time to seek expert opinion, explore the promptings of our intuition, and open our minds to alternative options. As we grow stronger in affirming our lives, new opportunities do arise but, we must do the work and be flexible; rigidity is not an option… Remember: By affirming our lives, we affirm that we are the embodiment of health, healing and love.Every resource for my healing comes  to me easily and effortlessly.
What about you? What are your thoughts? What affirmations do you use? Do you find healing takes place when you give attention to others in need rather than fixating on fears and self? Do share! Thank you. 😉

A beautiful image, your healing tree!

“…when we visualize a positive outcome for difficult situations and consciously take actions that benefit all, no matter what the end result produces, our worries cease to matter; we have acted for the collective good… Serve the collective, heal ourselves.”

One instant way to healing is kindness. Reaching out with a feeling of kindness changes the vibrations within us and others in less than half a minute. I do this every day, especially with people “I don’t like” 😉

Oh do I have to stay positive and I do use affirmations that include writing on paper: I can, I will, Statements. Especially when I am down, then I say them over and over.

I, too, use positive affirmations…directed inward for myself and outward for others. When people ask me how I am, I say…WONDERFUL!…and when they exclaim how amazing that is, that most people say they feel ok, or good…I tell them that if we say it (I am wonderful) then there is more likelihood that it will come to pass. It works for me. 🙂
Thanks, Eliz, for the beautiful photos and thoughtful words.

I think you have to be sincere about affirmations for them to really work.

    Hi,
    Interesting post!
I believe in the power of prayer, for the healing of my body, of my soul, and of my mind! The Bible says, “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up!

I have a close friend on Facebook that did a group called “Allison’s Affirmations” where she posts happy thoughts and messages all the time….it really inspires me to see when she AND others can have a really crummy day and yet STILL find the good in it. 🙂

This really rang true with me today. I am taking some time to work with some of my feelings after all losses this month. I working on healing myself and meditating on what I need to release, what I can learn, and how I can move forward

I used to read an affirmation each day. I’ve learned to do it mentally whenever I need to.

I completely agree with the premise of this post in that positive affirmations repeated on a daily basis can certainly bring about a good change in our lives and the way we view the world.

Patience is a virtue one must keep. Healing takes a lot of process and time, being impatient can only lead to further problems.

Positive affirmations indeed help the healing process. You are acknowledging your own healing power. You build confidence, learn to accept and take action. The result: you gain control over your life. At least, that is how I see it. -katrina centeno

Healing comes from within and this reminds me of Leo White from Charmed. How he healed with his hands… and from within… Healing takes place with time… as time heals everything…

we have to constantly confirm and also love ourselves

  22. 20/12/2014 7:50 pm

I could not agree more. Being mentally at peace and without stress everyday is one of the best healing out there.

My mom is actually sick right now and we have been telling her to keep her faith and be strong. However, no matter how many times she has visited physicians and has gone to different churches to seek for positive answers, her body is still unhealthy and weak. We only pray for her recovery and healing.

What an inspiring post you always shared. Affirmation isn’t easy. Need to be sincere enough to make it works..

I have also heard that healing becomes possible when we learn to forgive people, and first of all, when we forgive ourselves and accept ourselves as unique human beings, just the way we are. I love the saying that by affirming our lives, we affirm that we are the embodiment of health, healing and love. This is our true self, we just need to realize and accept that.

By sharing the flame of healing and love, we touch all. ~ I am a conduit for peace, bliss, and blessings. – I love this.

It’s a reminder that everyone can contribute to someone’s healing, be the effect big or small. Affirmations can help anyone in the process, we just have to help them to ease or quicken the journey.

I think about healing as nature’s work combined with man’s mind. My mom had her mild stroke back when I was in second year college, she’s fighting for her life, and despite the tight financial budget, we were able to survive. And now she’s back to work, just normal. She was bed ridden for couple of days or i think it reached month, but she fought for our sake. She was able to recover, even without the service of a physical therapist. She had the will to continue living and looking after her children. Now, I’m already working and she’s still working.

A person needs to be personally interested in his/her healing before healing could come to him/her. And our body, even without the aid of a medicine can cure itself in time.

    *my two cents on healing…

I think many people don’t realize how powerful words are, for good or bad, positive or negative. There is definitely truth to the concept of speaking things into existence, so we should use our words wisely!
