Thank You All: On Being Freshly Pressed... A Thank You Bouquet to all of You!
Do you remember the last time you got really exciting news? Where were you and what were you doing? I think it is human nature to capture a special moment, marinade in it and then lock it away for posterity. Today was one of those days for me, as I found out that a post I wrote on SADE LIVE IN CONCERT IN NY had gotten selected by WordPress.com (as one of 10 posts selected/featured on the front page) for the honor of being freshly pressed! Thank you, thank you, thank you all for your likes and comments… You made me truly proud of calling WordPress my blog home; something I’ve always appreciated anyway. How do you get freshly pressed? I’d been up, a good portion of the night, working on my SADE post because I wanted to make sure that all my pictures were organized and watermarked properly. It was an arduous task and, at one point, I thought of throwing in the towel. I’d taken a lot of pictures at the phenomenal concert I attended at the Nassau Coliseum, about half were blurry, and I wanted to make sure to use only the best photos. I posted a few pictures and hit publish; inviting my readers to come back later for the pictures.
I was responding to comments and still uploading more pictures when Tilly left me a comment about being freshly pressed. I thought she was joking until I noticed the blog traffic numbers flying high, and a wonderful email came from Erica confirming same. Needless to say, I got a taste of what it must feel like to be a mini blog celeb and have all eyes on me… albeit for a short while. It has been an exhilarating day, and I am grateful and humbled by the kindness, via comments/likes, of other bloggers. What was your special experience like?

Since the Daily Post Challenge started in January, I’ve met lots of terrific bloggers; some who have had their sunny FP moment and others who haven’t. Each blogger has taught me something about their niche, their lives, and their craft, and all are freshly pressed in my mind. I think it is wonderful to be acknowledged for a post, a shared story or a special insight, yet, at the end of the day, the relationships we build with our blog buddies and the friendships we make on this fantastic blogging platform make all the difference. I am grateful for the honor and the relationships, and from the bottom of my heart I say… THANK YOU! What are your thoughts? What are you grateful for? Do you expect good things to happen to you? Do share! Thank you. 😉
