Inspiration: It Only Takes One Smile…

Our Knowledge is the amassed thought and experience of innumerable minds.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Inspiration: It Only Takes One Smile...... Happy Father's Day! Be Happy...

There are 43 muscles in the face and the jury is still out on how many muscles it takes to smile or frown… However, what we do know is that smiling lightens up the face while frowning does the opposite. It only takes one smile to shift the energy in a room… So, go ahead, SMILE!  On this father’s day, let’s take a moment to reflect on the happy moments we shared with the men/dads in our lives and then spread that love around. Below is a beautiful poem that was shared at graduation yesterday and I had to share it with you.  Also,  I have added a beautiful story about father’s day, so do click through and read it. I hope your day was bright, beautiful and filled with loving cheer. Happy Father’s Day!  How did you celebrate the day?

It only takes one smile to offer welcome… and blessed be the person who will share it.
It only takes one moment to be helpful… and blessed be the person who will spare it.
It only takes one joy to lift a spirit… and blessed be the person who will give it.
It only takes one life to make a difference… and blessed be the person who will live it.

The Barber of Coupe De Ville by Author Unknown
A young boy had just gotten his driving permit. He asked his father, who was a minister, if they could discuss his use of the car. His father said to him, “I’ll make a deal with you. You bring your grades up, study the bible a little, and get your hair cut; then we’ll talk about it.”
A month later,  the boy came back and again asked his father if he could use the car. His father said, “Son, I’m really proud of you. You brought your grade up, studied the bible well, but you didn’t get your hair cut!”
The young man waited a moment and then replied, “You know dad, I’ve been thinking about that. Samson had long hair, Moses had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair.”
His father replied gently, “Yes son, and they walked everywhere they went.” 😉

Come to think of it, I took a long walk today… 😉 This has been a hectic weekend in our household and I am looking forward to the week ahead.  One thing I know is that I am thankful for all the moments that have made me smile in my lifetime and I celebrate them as well as Father’s Day today. Happy Father’s Day! What are your thoughts? How did you celebrate Father’s Day? What has made you smile today?  Do share! Thank you. 😉

Positive Motivation Tip: On Father’s Day, take stock of your happy moments and share them with your loved ones…

It takes nothing to smile and yet it can mean so much to the person you smile at; it brightens the day and makes us feel good inside. We should smile more!
I smiled a lot today – it’s my hubby’s birthday and I bought him a bicycle – you should have seen him smile too! Now we can go cycling together and smile at everyone we meet!

Smiles are contagious!!! At least I’ve experienced that on many occasions. It takes much more work to be angry and glum than it does to give a smile and share a smile… working on sharing more myself these days! GREAT post Eliz!!! 🙂

Smiling is free and the best mood lifter.

I have always believed in one smile could change one person’s life around, we never know when our smile will bring some happiness and meaning into someone’s life.

I am truly smiling today, I have made my big decision-I will be retiring from my medical job the end of September. I will be down to one daytime job, evenings and weekends off-it has been many years, and I am so excited about this change. I am definitly smiling today !! 🙂

One of my favorite songs is “Smile” sung by Nat King Cole. I say, More smiles, less frowns and everything will be okay.

writing actually about India and the tough fight of feminist actors there I have to add, that sometimes fathers do some wrong decisions, supporting sons, not daughters …

My heart felt a certain peace, of gratitude, of hope and optimism after reading your post of inspiration. Smile and the world smiles with you. Smiling is naturally a part of me. When I work with the sick a smile, an act of kindness, even a joke to create laughter helps in the healing of a person. How I celebrated my Father’s day? saturday, I had a date with my 5-year old son. we had a father and son bonding at the Brazos Bend state park. we met the baby alligators, discovered nature, attempted fishing. then Sunday we ate out with family at a dimsums place then had crawfish for late dinner at home. Again it was with my family. It was about being with your love ones while enjoying great food and gifts of nature. Have a blessed day.

This is an uplifting post and a different refrain from yesterday’s post.
And I am still smiling. 🙂

A smile has such a powerful impact. I remember every time I receive one. Great reminder that I need to give a few out today 🙂

Cute story about the boy and his dad! 🙂
I’ve always liked the saying, “Smile…you never know who’s falling in love with your smile.”

It is amazing how much a smile changes our perception of a person. Those people with naturally pleasant faces, the ones with the mouths that turn up slights (ala Tom Cruise) always seem open and friendly.

Love it! I once did a self-experiment and smiled at everyone through the mall. I got dozens of smiles back! It was wonderful! The story of the minister’s son made me laugh! I will have to remember that – I may need it someday (although I love my son’s long hair!) 🙂

I love that boy’s comment. He’s definitely got a point.
The photos are beautiful! They both look very contented.
Hope you had a long and relaxing walk.
