Inspiration: Ten Inventions We Could Use Now…

27/05/2011

“I do not think there is any thrill that can go through the human heart like that felt by the inventor as he sees some creation of the brain unfolding to success… Such emotions make a man forget food, sleep, friends, love, everything.” Nikola Tesla

Inspiration: Ten Inventions We Could Use Now... inventions and creativity from the muse to the brain

When we think about the benefits from inventions that have made our everyday lives easy, we don’t give much thought to the source, the origins of those items. We enjoy them and wish for other things to make our lives comfortable. Did you know Paint was invented in Africa? Paper by a Chinese Court official? and the first photograph by Joseph Nicephore Niepce? Recently, I wrote about things we could expect to see ten years from now, and while I included things that were logical; given our current inventions, I didn’t venture into new territory there.

For this post, I’m going out on a limb and like my fellow bloggers who responded to this WordPress prompt, I’m inviting those gifted scientists and inventors to make my dream list come true. Is it feasible? Sure. All the things we enjoy today; from the light-bulb to the car, to the space mission and even the laptop I write on, were once a thought, a spark of imagination in someone’s mind.  All is possible … only in a matter of time.  As Michelangelo rightly said,”A man paints with his brain and not with his hands.”  The brain can and does create amazing things. Here is my list of Ten Inventions that I believe we could all benefit from if not now, then at some point in our lives… What do you think? What would you add? 🙂  More Below. Have a restful Memorial Day Weekend!

“I believe in human dignity as the source of national purpose, human liberty as the source of national action, the human heart as the source of national compassion, and in the human mind as the source of our invention and our ideas.” John Fitzgerald Kennedy

Ten Things: Inventions We Could Use Now…
♥A permanent Disease Curing machine (a capsule we enter which scans our bodies, detects disease, and administers a cure)
♥A machine that gives us the body and face of our dreams (yeah a bit shallow but this is fantasy, okay?)
♥A machine that doubles our Good Karma and Fortune ( it takes from the selfish and greedy) every time we help someone else. 🙂
♥Cars with Wings to fly that help us avoid ridiculous traffic jams when we are in a hurry. Emergency vehicles get first preference; It would be perfect for ambulances.
♥Time/Travel machine; a dvr for our lives and to take quick trips to anywhere in the world.

“These are bagpipes. I understand the inventor of the bagpipes was inspired when he saw a man carrying an indignant, asthmatic pig under his arm. Unfortunately, the man-made sound never equaled the purity of the sound achieved by the pig.” Alfred Hitchcock

Ten Inventions We Could Use Now... The three muses of creativity and invention

♥Hair Wash/Style Machine – We set it up, put it over our heads and it does everything… No more long waits at a salon. It will give haircuts too.
♥ Problem Solving Machine that interprets and solves Technical problems
♥Foreign Language Machine that when attached to our heads, transmits a whole language skills and knowledge into the brain; so we wake up speaking a new language
♥A Predicting Machine Fortune Telling for those who need to know and tips on how to avert disaster. 😉
♥Love, Peace and Joy Spreading Machine – We step into it and vava vroom, life is loving, peaceful, and grand. Hey, why not?  😉

I couldn’t help but add the last one because we all need love in this world and peace is also paramount. Of course, there will be people who will refuse to accept the gift of that machine because they are used to misery… But with a little bit of nudging and encouragement, hopefully they’ll try it. 😉 What are your thoughts? What inventions would you like to see? How would it impact your life and the lives of others? Do share! Thank you. 🙂

This post was inspired by a prompt from our WP Daily Post: What invention do you most need right now?

Positive Motivation Tip: New inventions come to the marketplace to meet the needs and dreams of not only the inventor but the general population. We can dream them into existence!

I now am envisaging a traffic jam high bove the traffic jam, as all the flying cars seek to avoid the non-flying cars. 🙂

I think I like the body and face one – I’m happy with my own, really, just need them polished up a bit! I’ll take the language one on spec – I need to learn a new language!

Can I please have an instant nail fixing machine (I broke a nail, fixed it, then broke it again!)?

Right this minute I need a housework magic wand. Wave lightly over affected areas to produce instant results. That sort of thing! 🙂

You are too funny Robin! I love your ideas and the nail fixer is muy importante. 😉 The Wish Fairy waves her wand and she says – GRANTED!:-) E

I like the skepticism of Hitchcock!

Great post! These inventions all seem quite impossible to me but I’m pretty sure at some point there’s a machine that can do it!

    • 28/05/2011 3:52 am

Yes, I imagine they could eventually be made… at least some of them. 🙂 TY!

  4. 28/05/2011 4:01 am

I love your inventions! You know what they say: if you can dream it, you can do it…

    • 28/05/2011 4:06 am

That is True! I am definitely dreaming it. 🙂

Great ideas, Great post! I’m with Oyeniyi on housework. They have robotic vacuums, but I want my whole house cleaned! And my meals prepared. And a quicker way to travel either flying cars, as you suggest, or teleportation.

    • 28/05/2011 5:26 am

I’m game for the house cleaning robot… One that does everything from top to bottom and runs the dishwasher and handles the laundry too. So what will we be doing when all these super robots take over our daily chores and needs? 😉 Ah, we’ll cross that bridge when the time comes…

How about an invention that matches us up with the job/vocation/career that’s best suited to our personalities and/or our life’s works?

    1. Alfred Hitchcock’s quote ~ priceless. I love the bagpipes . . . played outside. Inside, I’d rather listen to a pig squealing.

    2. Love your list, E! Some real innovative ideas on it.

    3. Love, Peace and Joy Spreading Machine – We step into it and vava vroom, life is loving, peaceful, and grand. ~ This already exists. When we meditate, we access a bottomless well of love, peace, and joy.

    4. ” It is interesting to me that people don’t see any connection between their misery and their complaints — their feeling of being a victim; the feeling that everyone is doing something to them. It’s amazing. How many times has this connection been pointed out in the dharma talks? How many? And yet because of our fear we won’t look.” ~ Charlotte Joko Beck, Everyday Zen, Love & Work

    Happy weekend!

I love your list, but I wonder what we’d do in a world where we had all those inventions! I’d like to think we’d put our time into cuddling kittens and such, but I’m a little dubious. 😀

Maybe they’d have a limited number of uses per individual? Hmm!

  10. 28/05/2011 10:10 am

Love the Hitchcock quote–too funny! We desperately need the Disease Curing Machine–at least a better detection machine. And I can’t laugh at the list because you never know . . . Wish I had that left-brained (is it right?) mind to invent something. Have a good holiday weekend.

  11. 28/05/2011 11:48 am

I’m absolutely for #1 (as you know)! However, weird it is, there are a lot of people who get such a wish all caught up like tangled string with whether we accept them as is. I find this silly. (Feels so good to be able to say that here!)

I wish they would invent some form of indestructible wireless signal so that my internet connection and my cell phone would not be devoid of signal no matter where I am!! Too many lost calls and connections!

And I totally agree with that household cleaning machine! 🙂

    Have a great weekend Elizabeth!!

Love the list. All of it! Especially the last one. Sooner… better!
    Thanks!

Love thr list; all of it and #1 and #10 are desperately needed in our world.
Meditation opens us to our full lives and selves; sadness and joy included.
It does not remove our human sorrows, so we need that machine. 😉

  14. 28/05/2011 9:46 pm

Love your list for new inventions, as usual very creative. I like the invention of a machine to do the housework-that would be marvelous !! 🙂

  15. 29/05/2011 12:20 am

Interesting on inventions. ♥Cars with Wings to fly that help us avoid ridiculous traffic jams when we are in a hurry. Emergency vehicles get first preference; It would be perfect for ambulances. This one takes the cake! 🙂

    • 29/05/2011 12:34 am

Thank you… I like the winged car but I will have to add that house cleaning robot to the list… It is a hot favorite for most of us. 🙂

  16. 29/05/2011 6:37 pm

Nice list…seems more fantasy than possibility but who knows? If you’re going to dream, dream big!
I personally would love to have that house cleaning robot spoken of……at least for doing the dishes!

  17. 29/05/2011 6:59 pm

    Great list! 🙂

I have often wanted cars that fly and then wondered if that wouldn’t create another traffic jam so we’d have the both above and below.

The house cleaning robot would be a dream come true. It’s funny how the things we use now were once advertised as time-savers, and yet (according to a book I recently read) they were actually invented to give women at home more things to do because they had so much time on their hands.
