Daily Adventures: Twelve Fun Things To Do…

17/04/2011

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable.” Helen Keller

Adventures: Twelve Fun Things To Do... skydiving

When I read the Daily Post prompt for today, I was glad because I liked the topic, Top Ten Favorite Things to Do, and I love list posts. Okay, I did modify it from the original which was to write on top things we hadn’t done in a year. I decided to write about both things I enjoy doing and a few I’d like to do because if I love something enough to call it a favorite, I would make the effort to try and honor it.

Since this is adapted from a post I wrote on things that make me happy, I have added a couple more things that would make me smile if I could do them on a regular basis. For instance, I often wonder what it would be like to go skydiving and the thrill of parachuting down to earth. Another thing would be a trip to the rain forest to see and photograph new flora and fauna… Well, read on for for my list of Twelve Fun Things to do on any given day… Keep in mind that life’s adventures don’t have to mirror a James Bond movie… They could simply be filled with serendipitous moments that put a smile on our faces and make us happy…

Adventures: Twelve Fun Things To Do... visit Amazon Rainforest

♥♥♥ To go skydiving and experience the thrill of parachuting down to earth.
♥♥♥ To take a trip to the Amazon Rainforest to see and photograph new flora and fauna…
♥♥♥ To watch an early morning sunrise… Especially in spring and summer time when flowers are blooming, there’s a strong scent of fresh flora in the air, and bright colors shine everywhere.
♥♥♥To enjoy a bowl of freshly made matzo ball soup in the dead of winter; add some veggies to the mix and I’m thrilled.
♥♥♥To perform Random Acts of Kindness for those in need; the homeless, the elderly, the sick, children…
♥♥♥To wake up early in the morning, get out of bed with a spring in my step and get a hot stone massage; I’m a night person so mornings can be a stretch.      What fun things would you do or add to your existing list? Your thoughts? The rest of this post and more information on the Blog Hop/Rules are below. Add/Update your links and make new friends…

Adventures: Twelve Fun Things To Do... visit the rainforest

♥♥♥To enjoy butler service of freshly baked bread drizzled with sweet butter and served with a cup of tea with honey and milk would be a perfect start to the day.
♥♥♥To take long walks on the aqueduct, in nature, with my headphones on listening to my music of choice; Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott, Sade… and many others.
♥♥♥To spend even more time with my children sharing funny stories and telling jokes about things they observed during their school day or at a social event.
♥♥♥To take a languid, gentle stretch yoga class and conclude it with a meditation, relaxation session… with soothing music around me…
♥♥♥To have a day of beauty which definitely makes me happy; with music, dance, a hot shower, a manicure/pedicure, getting my hair done and a nice meal at a great restaurant.
♥♥♥To travel will always make me happy as I love visiting new places and spending time in hotels around the world… I love luxury hotel rooms where the sheets smell of lavender, and chocolates and fresh flowers welcome you to your door… 8)

Wow skydiving… not me. It takes a lot to get me into a plane (although I’ve gotten much better in the past few years) there’s no way I would jump from one unless it was on fire!

The hot stone massage… now you’re talking!
    Fun post Eliz. Thanks!

  6. 18/04/2011 9:43 am

What a fun post! I get to learn a little more about you and think of my own list! I pretty sure the rainforest and the day of beauty would be there! The butler service?! Amazing! On the other hand, I’m with Barbara in that I would not skydive – I might have considered it pre-little boy – not any more! Thanks for sharing Elizabeth and I hope that nasty cold is gone by the time you read this!! 🙂

FUN post. Music, laughter, shared stories, relaxation, meditation. Wonderful list.

I enjoyed my BBE (best breakfasts ever) in Paris: Cafe au lait et petit pain au buerre. Magnifique!

I love lists posts too. Some of your top ten favorite things are my favorite things too. I love performing RAK, especially for strangers. They are usually the most grateful and truly appreciate the expected gesture.

I love running exactly for your #3 item. I get to enjoy some of the most stunning sunrises. Each one is such a blessing and a reminder how precious and beautiful life is.

Thanks for stooping by my blog today! I hope you visit again soon. 🙂

  9. 18/04/2011 11:31 am

Although I like to sleep in I also love it when I wake up early and have a beautiful, long day to enjoy with a great book. Preferably in the sun. Oh, and I’d love the beauty day as well 🙂

Hi, Eliz – hope you’re feeling better! Your comment about skydiving reminded me of an experience I had a couple of years ago and I wrote about it on my old blog: cellchic.blogspot.com/2009/07
Have you actually been skydiving or is it on your wish list? I believe I will let my experience from a couple of years ago suffice 😮

I enjoy reading stories on the advebtures of skydiving-but I have to admit-it’s never been on my listed on To Do list. I don’t see the value in jumping out of a perfectly good running airplane ! 🙂

    Eliz
I really need to proof read my comments. !! ooops !
Met adventures of skydiving. and It’s never been on my “To Do” list. 🙂

    Hi Eliz,

I would visit the pyramids and climb all of them, say hello to the world from there. I would visit the tallest building in the world Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, climb the stairs and listen to my echo from the top how it jumps from angle to angle and slowly disappears. I would go to Paris, clime the Eiffel Tower, feel the breeze brushing my cheeks. Then after all of those climbing I would seat peacefully on the beach of Atlantic City and watch the movement of the waves in a warm sunny day. Not possible in one physical day :))

Thank you for sharing your adventurous moments,

Ooh, skydiving! I have always wanted to do that! It was part of my things to do before I met my husband, and after I met him and learned that he also wants to skydive, he and I have included it in our list of things to do. Ooh, the mere thought of it excites me! 🙂

  15. 19/04/2011 6:28 am

    My list would be:
Spend a lazy Sunday morning in bed with my husband
    Take the children to Anglsea
Go to New Zealand to visit my brother
    Visit the Daintree Rainforest (Queensland)
Take the children to see snow for the first time
Get a pedicure (I desperately need one!)
Visit my sister in Tasmania to see her new home and so she can meet her brother-in-law and new nephews and nieces
Have another mud bath in Daylesford with my husband
Take the children to the hot springs

OK – I’m one short but I intend to do all of these over the next two years. Visiting my brother may have to wait an extra year until my family have Aussie passports though. 🙂

Too often we DO leave things on the backburner – then one day we wake up and it is too late for some of them. Live for today, for tomorrow may never come.
