MeetUp Mondays – A New Blog Hopping Communication
What is a Blog Hop and why does it matter? If you have a Blogger blog, you might have come across the term as it is a popular way to connect with other bloggers on a variety of topics, themes, or even just for the fun of connecting. It’s a great way to meet new bloggers, refresh a post that needs some loving attention, and even get a few new comments from others in the blogosphere. Join in! We can teach each other by sharing what we know and that way we all win; no fear of bad teachers here. 😉
While I’ve participated in tons of blog hops on the blogger platform; from ones on keywords, blog ideas, books, food, creative writing, crafting, social networking and more, I’ve always wanted to have one specifically on WordPress but never really tried. Since the DailyPost Challenge opened the door to new blogging friends and a wider world of writers from all walks of life, I’ve been thinking about it again. We are all connected on the internet and this is a way to bring us together for a common goal. Sharing and reading each others posts. Today, I was reflecting on a chat with one of my blog friends Viv and I’ve decided to go for it. Your help and support will benefit us all. I invite you to add a post and make some new friends.
Every week, we will have a new topic; for instance, This Week’s TOPIC is add a post you wish everyone on WordPress and beyond had a chance to read. The DailyPost can be a guide to help us. I will keep the link open for a few days and then close it. Once we get this going, I’ll add a poll too and we can vote for suggested topics to share. All ideas and suggestions are welcome! 🙂
Starting this week, I’ll also do a weekly “Get To Know” feature of a fellow blogger beginning with but not limited to my blog buddies. If you are interested, let me know and leave me a way to contact you. I’ll send a few quick and helpful questions to the selected blogger. Since Follow Friday remains a popular tradition on Twitter, Friday will be our Social Networking Hop with either a Twitter Hop with a mini Twitter Tip write-up or a Flickr, Facebook fan pages/networked blogs or any others-you-suggest blog hop. The goal is to motivate each other and help us stay committed to the Daily Challenge. Join in!
The rules are simple. Add your post related to the topic on the assigned week in the linky below, leave me a comment or question especially if we haven’t already met, check out and comment on as many of your fellow blogger posts as you wish, and spread the word. BLOG HOPS Update: I add new hops every two weeks on either Sunday or Monday. The current one will run from 3/14 – 3/28. I will post a new one the following day. Hey… this seems awesome.. Blog Hop sounds like socialising through facebook.. but its like safe and decent socialising…

Thanks for your followup comment and suggestion… The idea I have is more in terms of very general topics that will allow us to look in our blog folders and pick something we’ve written on the subject. Your idea is a good one and we could offer it as a: Add a post you’ve written about someone important in your life or someone who changed your life. The typical idea of a blog hop is to encourage hopping to connect with other new bloggers. We could also have a: Add your best post from last week, last month and so on for our hop. Does this help? LOL 🙂 Well, the rules are simple, check out a few or many new bloggers, like and/or comment and they should do same. Just another concentrated way of giving our collective blogs more exposure to people who actually show interest by hopping along with us. This is very popular on Blogger and it helped my blog there grow… Speaking of which, it has been slightly neglected since I started the daily post so I will be getting back on track there soon. A great idea, blog hopping for bloggers. I am a new blogger, as I’ve have shared with you before. I love creative writing about my life and topics of life in general. Most of all, I am enjoying meeting other bloggers. Visiting there blogs, reading their stories, is another way of being inspired and making new friends at the same time. That is what social networking is all about. Sharing information for inspiration,motivation and encouragment. A way to make our lives have more meaning and direction.
