10 Things I Believe In… this Holiday Season: What do you believe in? How frequently do your views change? What thoughts or beliefs never change for you?

On any given day, we have an opportunity to share something about our belief system. We all walk around with our bag of goods made up of our daily script, our morals, our training, our beliefs and other things that complete our personal history and journey. We reach for our baggage to whip out a comment, an opinion, a retort or two when an exchange occurs. We might even shift our perspective when a convincing argument shows us another point of view or rein in our views..

Sometimes, our beliefs or point of view might offend another person… This is inevitable because, whether we like it or not, there will always be people who won’t agree with us … it’s perfectly fine. Can you imagine a world full of yes men and women who agree with everything? How terribly boring that would be…

As I was preparing to write this post, the thought that came to me was “Oh, this is so much like Oprah’s – What I know for sure with a twist… what I believe.” I also realized thatI want this to be simple, reflective and fun… I’d leave the heavy lifting to another day, another post. I wanted my 10 things to be a reflection of what I’m thinking about this holiday season…

Naturally, we all believe in more than the suggested 10 things I listed below and I do add to my repertoire on a regular basis. What I’ve noticed is that I also find myself re-evaluating some beliefs/thoughts and firming up others. Do you find the same thing happens to you? This is a common practice as we stay flexible and open to a wider range of views. Keeping the holiday season in mind, below are 10 things I believe in…

“The outer conditions of a person’s life will always be found to reflect their inner beliefs.” James Lane Allen

♥♥♥I believe in the power of prayer; even a simple gesture of thanks and a compassionate thought can wield enormous power in resolving situations for us.

♥♥♥I believe in miracles of the everyday kind; acts of kindness, charitable giving, spur of the moment gifts, friendship,

♥♥♥I believe in Santa; as a symbol of the magical ways we can help each other and overcome our fears.

“Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy.” Norman Vincent Peale

♥♥♥I believe in global peace initiatives as the only safe option to war; especially for those who thrive on war mongering, divisiveness and discriminatory practices.

♥♥♥I believe in the joy and beauty found in simple things; vanilla ice cream, sunrise/sunset, a colorful flower, nature…

♥♥♥I believe in equal justice for all; access to the basic necessities, health-care, food, shelter, education, jobs, protection under the law for all.

♥♥♥I believe in the value of an education and the importance of our commitment to make a difference in our lifetime.

♥♥♥I believe in a positive attitude, unconditional love, truth, gratitude, authenticity and that acting with faith to accomplish our dreams will help us tremendously.

Okay enough with my list of 10 things I believe in as it could go on and on… what’s your list like? Share a morsel from your list. What one item stands out on your belief list… something simple…?
Thanks for Sharing & Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I believe that all I have is all I need. Sometimes I forget that, but somehow it always comes back to me when I least expect it.

That is a wonderful list. If we focused on those sort of things to belief in and be thankful for, we’d all have a better season.
Dropped by from SITS to say hi.

I too believe in global peace initiatives as a response to war. As a pacifist I believe that war and violence is never. a good idea. I also find joy in the simple things as well and I am glad that you do too x
