Happy New Year! I thought you should know that The Emancipation Proclamation is 150 Years Old today. On January 1st, 1863, The Emancipation Proclamation was signed. It offered freedom for slaves and led the way to total abolition of slavery in the United States. The 13th Amendment, passed on December 6th, 1865, finally abolished slavery.
