Happy New Year! I thought you should know that The Emancipation Proclamation is 150 Years Old today. On January 1st, 1863, The Emancipation Proclamation was signed. It offered freedom for slaves and led the way to total abolition of slavery in the United States. The 13th Amendment, passed on December 6th, 1865, finally abolished slavery. Every year, I send these blessings to everyone because they have helped me focus on the positive. I am offering all of you the following twelve gifts, imagine one to write/share/meditate on for each month of the year, and I hope you enjoy them. What did I do the first day of 2013? Eliz…this is also the first ‘official’ day of my retirement…so it is doubly auspicious! I just finished licking the envelope on my FIRST picture book submission! And I am packing for my trip to Chicago and New Hampshire to visit with my kids/grandkid!

Elizabeth, I love the blessings you send. I’ll copy them and hold them close to my heart for this year. My first day I think was very auspicious. It’s been bucketing it down with rain and high winds and, suddenly, clear blue sky over Oxfordshire, still whispering wind, lovely relaxed walk down to the village. Thank you for the blessings – I’m sending them back at ya, since their source is limitless! On the first day of the new year, I had brunch with dear friends on a cozy glassed-in porch overlooking a bay. Our brunch stretched lazily into the afternoon. At 4pm, I set out for the beach to listen and breathe and meditate on the ocean until dark. Perfection.
Sounds like a perfect day to me… Amen! TY! 🙂

Peter and I had a good-feel-day on Monday, 31st December, in Sydney
For the evening we were back home celebrating with bubbly wine and some special cake, watching the Sydney Fireworks on TV.at midnight. On New Year’s Day we watched the New Year’s Concert live from Vienna. Marvelous program!.We thought this was a good beginning of the New Year.
