Haiku: Happy For No Reason…

14/10/2012

“Act happy, feel happy, be happy, without a reason in the world. Then you can love, and do what you will.” Dan Millman

Haiku: Happy For No Reason… Pages turned or not.

Cold days, long, long nights…
He’s happy for no reason
Pages turned or not…

There are times when joy bubbles up inside of us, even as we’re going through major struggles. What triggers it? Does it even matter? When I saw the picture above, I tried to imagine what life must be like for the delightful Dalai Lama; he always has a sly smile on his face… No reason needed I bet.

“Happiness is not an ideal of reason, but of imagination.” Immanuel Kant

Haiku: Happy For No Reason… Summer’s gone, naught blooms

Dead flowers, dried leaves
She’s happy for no reason
Summer’s gone, naught blooms…

If you’re reading this post, be rest assured I’m not digging for answers; just making an observation to share in haiku. I suspect we’ve all had those magical moments when irrepressible joy bubbles up and then subsides… I’ll take a few as I continue to gear up with new classes and new decisions. What about you? More below!

“It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.” Chuck Palahniuk

Haiku: Happy For No Reason…May peace blanket you…

Fake smiles, lovers lies
We’re happy for no reason
May peace blanket you…

Hope you felt a bit of no-reason-joy while reading this one… Sending you peace and joyful blessings for the week ahead! What are your thoughts? Do you find yourself feeling joyful for no reason? Do you flash back to what triggered it? What things help you? Do you do more joyful things for yourself? Do share! Thank you. 🙂

*Please bear with me as I catch up on your blogs and commenting… I’m back on track with reading and responding to your blogs; albeit at a slow pace. Thank you all for your patience! 🙂

Positive Motivation Tip: We can be happy for no specific reason and that’s okay too. Explore the joy!

Joy does just bubble up sometimes! It often comes when I’ve had a quiet day at home and I’m not rushing from one thing to the next! I just begin to relax and enjoy what I’m doing, even if it’s very simple! I wanted to let you know Elizabeth that you disappear from my Reader over and over again! I can’t figure that out! I always come back to find you…but what could that be? I don’t think it’s something you can do a thing about, but I just wanted you to know. I value your posts, and it’s a bit mysterious! Debra

    • 16/10/2012 12:25 am

TY Debra, I have similar experiences and sometimes when I’m feeling frustrated about life, a feeling arises… As to the blog post disappearances, I have no idea… Gilly had the same experience too. 🙁

  2. 14/10/2012 9:52 pm

The best joy seems to happen for no apparent reason. Otherwise it sometimes feels forced.

  3. 14/10/2012 10:13 pm

‘This relaxation is the space in which happiness grows, and again I repeat: for no reason at all. It is not that you are happy because of something. You are simply happy.’ ” OSHO” Happiness is your nature.’ Good post and good quotes.

    • 16/10/2012 12:31 am

Beautiful quote from Osho and a perfect fit. TY! 😉

wow! two posts from two people back to back,, and they both address that internal happiness that sometimes bubbles up and out! http://missytree.com/2012/10/15/why-the-bloody-hell-would-you-leave-paradise-miss-tree
isn’t it a great feeling to have those moments/hours/days?!
i wonder what would happen if every single person on this planet agreed to ATTEMPT to smile and be happy for one day?!

TY and I see it resonated with lots of other people too… We are not alone in our observations. 🙂

TY so much Esenga as I wasn’t expecting any awards. much appreciated. 😉

  17. 15/10/2012 7:25 am

I believe that we human beings can only experience happiness in small doses. This is because it can be so intense, it might just kill us.

    • 16/10/2012 1:10 am

Now that is an interesting point you make… Could be or maybe some do experience it and fall joyfully mad. 🙂

  18. 15/10/2012 8:06 am

A great reminder, so many distractions that we need reminders like this.

    • 16/10/2012 1:12 am

Aye and I have my share of distractions… TY 🙂

  19. 15/10/2012 8:09 am

    A real delightful set.

  20. 15/10/2012 8:26 am

I so like the picture of the kittens being read to. You know I wake up happy most days. In school I was dubbed: Most Happy-Go-Lucky! I enjoyed your haiku–the expression “happy for no reason” is a good reminder that we aren’t here long.

    • 16/10/2012 12:23 pm

Good for you Terri! I know a few people who wake up happy. You are a wonderful group of sprites! 🙂

  21. 15/10/2012 8:28 am

Yes, your words are perfect – joy does “bubble up” from within. It’s a wonderful feeling. Enjoyed the haiku today.

    • 16/10/2012 3:01 pm

TY Maddie! What a wonderful feeling to know many others can relate to the notion of experiencing joy for no reason.. 🙂

  22. 15/10/2012 10:32 am

Isn’t it a wonderful feeling when joy bubbles up? Thanks Elizabeth.

Same here! It struck a happy note with me and the kittens are adorable… TY Shibin! 🙂

  29. 15/10/2012 9:47 pm

    That’s very true.
One can be happy by just wanting to be happy.
Being happy for no reason is something that we can master I guess.
    Very inspiring post

    • 16/10/2012 3:03 pm

TY Amira! I love your take on it… we can all master it too. 🙂

  30. 16/10/2012 2:04 pm

    • 21/10/2012 8:09 pm

      Thank you Z & G!!!! I’m with you on that one. 😆

  32. 16/10/2012 11:26 pm

Smile to yourself for no reason — and you will feel happy for no reason =)

  33. 16/10/2012 11:43 pm

Which is the best reason of all! Thanks for stopping by to say hello! Margie

  34. 17/10/2012 3:13 am

Happiness is a gift we all need to embrace and keep in our hearts for as long as we can and share it generously as much as we can…no limits, no bounds. Love the post!

    • 18/10/2012 11:21 pm

TY IT and you are truly the embodiment of the love and joy you express… Love your generosity! 😉

  35. 17/10/2012 5:04 am

Joy when it’s unexpected is even more joy. It comes down to a state of the mind, and for that reason I like the quote by Immanuel Kant. Enjoy the day!

    • 18/10/2012 11:23 pm

TY Munchow! I fell in love with that quote too… he delved deep and came up golden — filled with wisdom. 🙂

  36. 17/10/2012 7:26 am

Smiling for no reason, laughing for no reason… being happy for no reason is a blissful utopia, but it does exist, even for a few moments. And I love these moments.

    • 17/10/2012 9:50 am

It does and I wish all would have the experience especially all the mean people in the world… TY!

  37. 17/10/2012 10:55 am

    You continually inspire us Elizabeth!

    • 17/10/2012 12:03 pm

Same with you… Hope everyone has recovered in your household? I’m back to another bout with the sniffles but milder this time. 🙂

  38. 19/10/2012 4:14 am

I’m very amused by Dalai Lama’s cats!

  39. 22/10/2012 10:41 pm

I am thinking happy thoughts now. Love these quotes. 🙂 Big smiles to you.

“It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.” Had never paid that much heed, but how true!!

    • 12/11/2012 2:27 pm

How true and you interpreted it well. TY! 🙂
