First off, I’d like to say a big Thank You to the 2012 Summit sponsors: Mashable, 92nd Street Y, the United Nations Foundation, Ericsson, the United Nations Development Programme, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for inviting and welcoming bloggers from around the world to the three day event. It was a generous gesture and we were fed and given access to the full program.

On Sunday and Monday, the Social Good Summit continued to “explore how communities and audiences are connecting with each other through social and digital innovations to solve global problems. This {came} in the form of keynote speeches, Q&As, conversations, case studies and networking sessions.” I’ve added some links above to videos from some of our key guest speakers and I’ve added footage of some videos I took below.

Both Summit days were packed choc-a-bloc with an impressive list of speakers. For this recap on the Summit, I’ve put together a selection of photos, videos, and a slideshow from the event for your perusal. You might recognize some celebrity faces; Mira Sorvina, Forest Whitaker, Jane Goodall, Alyson Felix, America Ferrera and a few others. Jane Goodall was sensational and her chimp call, which she tried to teach us on the video above, was hilarious. I’ll add some names where feasible or do ask me in the comments section and I’ll respond. TY!

Highlights: Social Good Summit 2012 Day 2-3… Angelique Kidjo Sings

I hope you enjoy the clip above titled Angelique Kidjo Sings. I’ve listened to Angelique’s African/Euro pop sound for years. I remember the first time I saw her perform at Central Park, her energy level was incredible; she pranced and danced and sang with all her might. She is quite the stage act and entertainer, and remains one of my favorite singers.

What to Expect from the 2012 Social Good Summit

The Summit brought home the fact that there is still so much we can all do to create and share good in the world. It does begin at home. Our global conversations must begin with local ones and then expand beyond our local communities to embrace others globally…. This reminds me of the adage: charity begins at home. Highlights: Social Good Summit 2012 Day 2-3… Andy Borowitz and Wrap Up!

Andy Borowitz’s Wrap Up video is hysterical! I’m surprised I held the camera steady enough to capture his words. I’d recommend watching it for some rib tickling laughs. He was the final performer of the Summit and put a big smile on all of our faces. another great one was Dr. Chopra who got us thinking about how we use our minds… His video is below.  More below!

Highlights: Social Good Summit 2012 Day 2-3… Dr. Deepak Chopra

Dr. Deepak Chopra’s presentation was fascinating and I’d encourage you to watch it too. Pardon any glitches, they are all mine. I enjoyed the summit and found it both exhilarating and overwhelming.
