Weekly Photo Challenge: Movement…

06/07/2012

Concerts are a great place to see the human form in action; gyrating, spinning, jumping, doing all sorts of gymnastics to stay in sync tune with the pounding music. For this week’s photo challenge, I decided to share shots from concerts depicting movement. I choose shots that had some of that hand shaking effect my camera hates, but hey that’s life…

When we turn our cameras to capture movement at a concert, anything can happen. It’s hot, loud, smoky, crazy, and people are bopping away to the songs… Sometimes we capture the energy of the event and, at other times, the energy carries us away and we forget to take the shot or it’s an afterthought. I’ve learned to appreciate whatever my lens snares… some good, and some damn awful; all entertaining. More below!

Inevitably, when it’s time to choose what to share, it all becomes a jumble of moving parts competing for attention. The questions fly: Which shots will do? Which ones truly capture the action, dance moves, energy, sexiness, the exhilaration…? Who knows. What do you think? More below. Enjoy it!

Hope you enjoyed this! What are your thoughts? What photos did you share on Movement to fit the task? Was it easy/hard to find photos that supported your perspective on the subject? Were you drawn to certain types of photos for the prompt? Do share? Thank you! 🙂 😉

*Please bear with me as I continue to catch up on your blogs and commenting… Thank you all for your patience! 🙂

My fellow bloggers were equally creative with their selections. I listed several via Zemanta & WP Daily Post below. (I will update it and add more). We all appreciate trackbacks/ping-backs and LIKES from fellow bloggers too! Check out how others interpreted the theme – Movement – below. ***

This post was inspired by a prompt from WP Daily Post: Weekly Photo Challenge: Movement How do you show movement in your photos? This photo choice is a very deliberate show of movement through the camera lens and the blurring lights, but how else can you show movement of objects, or of the action that’s happening in your picture?
Share a picture that means MOVEMENT to you!

Positive Motivation Tip: The world we inhabit is in constant motion. We capture some with our cameras and we create others with software. No matter what, we are moving forward. Enjoy the moment.

        they are really good …!

  23. 08/07/2012 8:35 pm

I love to watch all the dance shows, in particular the competitions like “So You Think You Can Dance.” I have been known to tear up just watching the young bodies do the impossible! I marvel at the way our bodies are made…my own dancing ability isn’t much, but I’m grateful I can move! That’s enough for me, but I can marvel at the talent in others. Movement is a wonder to contemplate, so thank you, Elizabeth! Debra
