Concerts are a great place to see the human form in action; gyrating, spinning, jumping, doing all sorts of gymnastics to stay in sync tune with the pounding music. For this week’s photo challenge, I decided to share shots from concerts depicting movement. I choose shots that had some of that hand shaking effect my camera hates, but hey that’s life…
“In silence and movement you can show the reflection of people.” Marcel Marceau

When we turn our cameras to capture movement at a concert, anything can happen. It’s hot, loud, smoky, crazy, and people are bopping away to the songs… Sometimes we capture the energy of the event and, at other times, the energy carries us away and we forget to take the shot or it’s an afterthought. I’ve learned to appreciate whatever my lens snares… some good, and some damn awful; all entertaining. More below!
“Many a trip continues long after movement in time and space have ceased.” John Steinbeck

Inevitably, when it’s time to choose what to share, it all becomes a jumble of moving parts competing for attention. The questions fly: Which shots will do? Which ones truly capture the action, dance moves, energy, sexiness, the exhilaration…? Who knows. What do you think? More below. Enjoy it!
