“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” Gautama Buddha
“Every morning in Africa, a Gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a Lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest Gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you are a Lion or a Gazelle… when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.” Anon
The sun and I have crossed paths before … for a photo challenge. We met at sunset. It was pretty demanding, and failed attempts lay everywhere. I love the sun; even worship at her doorstep. But, I am yet to capture her essence, her sultry, shimmering presence, her spherical form in all its glory. Until I do so, please accept what you see here as a sampling of the Sun…
“See how nature – trees, flowers, grass – grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence…we need silence to be able to touch souls.” Mother Teresa of Calcutta
I’ve always loved the name Sunny. However, ironically, all the Sunny’s I know are either very moody or quite dead. The sun is a powerful opponent. Yet, the rays of the sun shine equally on all below her without prejudice… May we find that equanimity towards our fellow men/women. More below!
