My selections for this week’s photo challenge might be a bit of/launch of a stretch, but if I’m taking a dictionary interpretation to heart, I’m on point in showcasing the phenomenal launch of a light show we enjoyed at Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s Watch The Throne concert… I haven’t written about it yet or uploaded my pictures because I’ve spent the last month trying to find a diplomatic way to talk about the annoying stuff; weed-smoking, jive-talking, booze drinking, cigarette smoke in your face experience that dented what was a fantastic show by two of rap music‘s geniuses… No, the annoying stuff was not from the super talented Jay-Z and Kanye, but by some of their VIP friends/guests, even some familiar faces that I won’t be naming. Sorry… All this while security stood around and acted dumb and blind. But more on that shit stuff later or on another day! For now, come back for more launch shots later! 😉

Anyway, I don’t want to launch into a tirade over an event that was meant to be entertaining, however, that part was exasperating nonetheless. As you can see from the photos, it was an amazing show but… As my family and some of my friends said to me, what did you expect, chocolate kisses and orange juice? 😆 They had a point there but at a concert it is not so easy to move. Next time, I’ll cast my net where the water is deep; I’ll get a different set of tickets and sit elsewhere. Enough about that and time to launch into a new song. I’ll still do a write up and share my concert photos sometime this year… More on LAUNCH below! 😉

I think it is apropos that we start our New Year with LAUNCH as our photo challenge. Life is always about movement; launching forward to discover new paths and new ways of doing things… Starting new businesses or even adopting innovative concepts to help us grow. When all else fails, we hurl the stuff away and start afresh… “If you want to launch big ships, you have to go where the water is deep.” Go Launch! Have an inspired year!

Love your launch photo collection. Sorry that a few bad-acting individuals disrupted your enjoyment of what seems like a fabulous show but the photos are lovely. It must have been quite an entertaining show.

Absolutely applauding my hands into stinging over this “Launch” photo challenge posting! All of that launching points UPWARD, right! Thanks especially for including that down home quote by my own homeboy, Faulkner! If you think all that illegal consumption was bad at the concert you write about here, you should have grown up in the 60s, trying to peacefully and lawfully demonstrate for peace, getting out of Vietnam, civil rights, stopping nuclear proliferation–you would have always gotten stoned just trying to catch a breath at most of those sit-ins!
